2 RED is a privately owned family business with over 25 years combined experience in home improvements, including thermal insulation, boiler installations and full house refurbishments including bathrooms.

Through our team of technical surveyors and installers we aim to help domestic customers improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

We specialise in boiler replacement - Gas, Oil and LPG, full heating systems as well as insulation for lofts, solid walls and underfloor applications.

We also undertake full house refurbishment projects for private home owners and landlords.

2Red installed our boiler and control system in August 2018. There was a leak to their piping that caused it to stop working shortly after installation. After that it worked fine for several months until early summer this year when the hot water stopped working. Paid a call-out charge and 2Red replaced an electronic valve that seemed to resolve the issue. The system wasn't used until this autumn and shortly after starting use the hot water again didn't work. 2Red sent an engineer to replace the valve again but this didn't fix the problem. Engineer then found a loose connection in their wiring, tightened that up and for a few days it worked. Then the hot water stopped again. Third visit an engineer checked and tightened the wiring resulting in a working hot water system. He did advise the pump was getting old and that I should pay to replace that. After he left the whole heating system turned out to no longer be working, no hot water and no heating. Fourth visit found yet another loose wire was the cause. Wiring fixed again and new pump installed. Hopefully the four visits have now properly fixed the wiring and we will not need to call then out again. Overall, I think there is an opportunity for 2Red to improve quality control on wiring for new installs and to adopt a more thorough approach to confirming that faults have actually been resolved. Throughout the team have been charming, helpful and tried.
