Installed double-glazed glass unit for Balcony Door. Problems now with Balcony Door gap and difficulty opening/closing & locking door. Contacted Affix in Feb 2023 regarding issue. Affix said issue is with frame & not to do with glass unit and I needed to find another contractor to service/adjust the balcony door. Another contractor removed the double-glazed unit to service/adjust balcony door. However, on removal, he found that the ""...bottom of the door has been grinded out/cut along with the glass bead & where the glass bead fits in. Also the laminated double glazed unit is significantly shorter and doesn't fit as it should..." Because of this, contractor says balcony door can now no longer be serviced. Contractor spoke to Affix and photos sent to Affix. I was present at time. Eventually Affix sent representative to inspect. Affix contractor said he saw the photos emailed and agreed that the glass beading has been cut/grinded. He did not remove the glass unit and said he had no tools to do any repairs, as he does not do this work anymore. Affix Windows say it would not have been them who cut/grinded the glass beading and are not taking any responsibility for fixing the issue. However, we have only had Affix Windows replace the glass unit and adjust the door hinge, so it can only be Affix Windows contractor who cut/grinded and mastic sealed the glass bead (when double-glazed unit installed), which means balcony door can now no longer be serviced/adjusted.

I am sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied. We installed a double glazed unit to your door seven years ago 2016 to a property that you rent out. You called our office in April this year 2023, saying that your door was not opening properly, we explained to you that you would need to arrange an engineer to adjust the door as this has nothing to do with the glass unit installed seven years ago. You contacted us again in July 2023 by email with photos, showing and saying that you have had a trades person to your property to adjust the door and they were not successful and it was due to our glass unit. We arranged for a representative of Affix to attend your property and we found that there was no issues with the glass, but we advised you that the door was about 30 years old and you could adjust it or we would recommend replacing the door as it was old and in very poor condition. While our representative was at your property you had arranged for the other trade person to attend without telling us. We explained that we were not there to discuss with a third party we were there to meet yourself to advise and not to teach another person how to adjust a door. We wish you all the best going forward and hope you can find a solution to fixing your door.

I found the company from sales to fitting the end product very good. I initially dealt with Connor regarding the product and price and found him good to deal with. He always returned my calls in a timely manner and if he was unsure of something, he would find out and come back to me. The window fitters (Dan & crew) were equally obliging and did a good job and went out of their way to make sure that we were happy with their work. We did have 3 to 4 window panes that were marked/imperfect (as supplied from the factory) and required replacing. This was done without any hassle. We are pleased with the job and finished product.

We had a new porch and replacement door fitted today. Affix's price was not the cheapest but was well below their most expensive competitor. The team arrived at the agreed time, installed the door and porch with care and precision and left a great improvement to our home. Thoroughly recommended. As a follow up. Two days later the porch door had settled a little and started jamming. Within an hour of my phone call, the misalignment was fixed. Excellent service!

Contacted Affix to replace our front and back door. They were quick to respond and the information on their website was very helpful. Donna was the contact at Affix and she was incredibly helpful and patient with all our queries and the changes we made to the initial order. We also visited their showroom to look at the types of doors and locks available. The quote for the work was reasonable, especially compared to one of the other door companies we contacted. Had to wait a while for the door to be delivered and fitted, but we were told it would be 11 or 12 weeks. The fitters arrived when arranged and did a good job fitting the new doors. They were polite and pleasant. The old doors were taken away and everything tidied up afterwards. A couple of days later we noticed a small yellow stain on the new frame. After trying to clean it ourselves, we contacted Affix, and they immediately sent out the fitters again to clean up the frame. Very impressed, especially as we had already made the final payment. Very happy with our new doors!
