Garden City Services gave a one-line description of the job in their quotation and then denied all the verbal assurances previously given. They did not appear to want to do this job having taken 6 weeks between me accepting their quote and starting it (they had a rush of lucrative boiler fittings), and only appearing on their way to or from other jobs. I wrote 3 times to the owner explaining the problems and was ignored; Which? Trusted Traders now tell me that GCS have put this in the hands of a debt collection company, in spite of their undertaking, by signing up to the code of conduct, to try to come to an agreement and then use the Ombudsman if this is not possible.

No problem with gas fire service, a couple of items to be replaced but main thing was after smoke bomb test. Living room filled with smoke and smoke alarm did not go off, suggestion made to replace this also to replace carbon monoxide alarm. I have now replaced all 4 smoke alarms in our house plus carbon monoxide alarm. Better to spend a little money on these new items and save a life rather than not.

Managed to fit me into a busy schedule

Garden city managed to fit an appointment the next day even with their busy schedule. Plumber wore plastic bags over his shoes so carpets were safe. He was able to clear up blocked sink and pipe work which effected the washing machine. Checked downstairs room to ensure no leaks. The job was done quickly and plumber was courteous.
