We asked Paul to improve the security on our front and back doors. He replied very promptly to my initial request and gave clear, helpful and independent advice, accompanied by videos, and gave us a range of choices. He was also able to come out to us within a few days (by comparison, some other companies did not even reply when we asked them for quotes). Paul attended as arranged and was thoroughly professional throughout, doing a fantastic job and leaving no mess. The price was as per the quote. Paul also looked at our other locks while he was on site and again gave very helpful advice, in most cases making clear that our existing arrangements were already as good as they could be. We are very pleased with our new locks and would definitely use Paul again.

Following a theft of a bag containing, amongst other things, the house keys of my parents-in-law last night, I found Alexandra Locksmiths through Which? Trusted Traders this morning. Paul was very quick to get back to me despite being on another job at the time I called, he got round to the house and changed the lock within a couple of hours of my first call to him and was helpful, courteous, speedy and professional. The invoice was sent by return which was very efficient and so grateful to put a big tick on my to-do list for today.

Very pleased with the service. I contacted Alexandra Locksmiths on Monday, and was asked for photos of the locks needing serviced. Paul got back within a couple of hours, and gave clear advice and recommendations. He later confirmed he could attend either the next day, or in two days. I opted for the next day. All communications were clear (and that is a great bonus), and he arrived within the time he suggested. The work was done both cleanly and efficiently, but it was particularly good to meet someone expert in his craft, and able to give me both advice and also a history of one of the locks. I cannot really comment on relative cost, as I have not attempted any comparisons, I was more concerned to have reliability and competence.

Following a situation the night before with a faulty front door RimLock, which necessitated a call to an 'extortionate' emergency locksmith, who had to drill out the lock to let me in. I looked for a locksmith on Which 'Trusted Traders' and decided to phone Alexandra Locksmiths the following morning. I did, and Paul(Locksmith) soon returned my call. I explained my situation and he asked me to send him 'inside and outside' photo's of the 'lock', which I did. Following a further brief phone call, Paul arrived punctually a short while later at the time he said he would and replaced my lock. He also 'reset' a lock on an inner door which had been partially disabled without charging me for it. Paul was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about his work. He charged a reasonable fee; and a 12 month Guarantee capped it for me. Highly Recommended!!

Paul came to my house to fit a lock for a side gate. He asked me to send him a picture of the gate to get the correct lock. The installation was done today and it lasted half an hour. Before starting working, Paul explained me in detail all the steps that he was going to take, and the job was done exactly like that. I am very happy with my new lock. In addition I asked Paul to check the locks of a sliding door in the kitchen. Paul said that he does not have the experience to deal with this kind of locks and gave me advise on who to contact for help. Paul came across as a very nice and professional man.

Paul responded quickly to our initial inquiry about fitting a few new locks to meet our new insurance company's specifications. He arrived on time when he visited to see what needed to be done and made intelligent and useful suggestions. Originally, I was only going to get my front door locks changed but then I noticed my windows needed locks too. Paul was able to help with both, and was incredibly thorough in explaining how each locked worked and the benefits of them. I really appreciated him explaining about the lock systems as it made me feel much more in control of my homes security. He was punctual, very friendly and made the whole experience easy and simple. I would contact him again and would definitely refer him to any friend who needed help with their locks. The Banham nightlatch on my front door snapped and I remembered I had Paul's details as he had done a wonderful job a couple years ago supplying and fitting security grilles in my house. We recently moved house and needed a variety of locks changed including a number of stuck bolts and doors. Paul responded quickly to my email and arranged to visit to talk through our options. He turned up on time and looked at all our doors and locks and then went through the options available to us and the pros/cons of different lock types and brands. He also talked through more general security advice for our house around lighting and gates. He then gave us a quote for the work to replace and upgrade our locks. As there had been some break-ins locally, I wanted security advice on the front & kitchen doors, but did not want an alarm fitted. I saw Paul's company recommended by Which Local. His website was informative, giving a good idea of available security options. Paul came to inspect the doors and suggested Birmingham & London bars, an improved main lock, extra bolts on the hinge side of the wood front door, and sash jammers on the PVC kitchen door. When he did the work it was all done very efficiently & neatly; he adapted the sash jammers to the slight warp of the PVC door. He kept me informed of any delays in arrival times and was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable & professional. I feel a lot more secure now and would highly recommend Paul.

Paul Byrne came to give us advice and change 3 locks on the front door of a flat we have just bought in London. He arrived promptly as arranged and changed one lock for a 5 lever mortice. He could have changed the 2 other locks as we had expected but instead advised us that in his opinion the remaining 2 locks did not need to be replaced. This obviously saved us a lot of money! He was quick, informative, a tidy worker and very thorough. Although we found him a little expensive, we are from up north and not used to paying London prices(!) and he did supply us with 5 keys which saved time and hassle in getting more keys cut, so I expect his prices are standard for the area and no value can be put on peace of mind so it was worth the price. We will definitely use Alexandra Locksmiths again and I would have no hesitation in recommending.
