I contracted the Farnborough, Hants; branch of Bathstore to install a wet room in my bungalow. Scheduled to start on 5th Dec.2016, they estimated 8 working days for the job. The installation leaflet which boasts of a, "team of experts" , turned out to be a work of fiction. The team was one person. They couldn't supply a plasterer and asked me if I knew of one, and the electrician didn't turn-up until week three. The job took three weeks, during which I was without a shower and some days without a working toilet. When I used the shower for the first time it completely flooded the bathroom; the drain unable to cope with the water. This was over Christmas and New Year. When I investigated the drain I realised it was fitted at the incorrect angle and would never drain properly and the fitter had also broken building regulations by connecting two drains together. After much prevarication, the concrete floor was dug up and a new drain laid. New tiles, new splash panels. Another two weeks without a shower and some days no working toilet. Job finally completed on the 9th April 2017. 4 months and 4 days after the , "8 day" job started.
