We went through several months of waiting and chasing. When the fitters arrived this morning their instructions were completely wrong, they were 5 meters shy of carpet, 2 boxes shy of laminate and 4 door strips shy of actually being able to do their job. A colossal waste of time for everybody involved. They offered a weak apology and said I would just have to pay the difference, and I quote here, "getting what I paid for". What I thought I'd paid for, put my trust in and spent hours of my time and a holiday day doing, was getting carpet fitted by professionals. What I got was a whole string of people who were utterly and completely inept up until the fitters themselves realised how wrong the order was. I am not a carpet fitter, I am not a carpet salesman, it is not up to me to decipher what I need. I am using a different company now instead, who's outbound services were much better and the guy actually took his time measuring.
