Needed carpet for bedroom, about 18 months ago, so went to carpetrite. Browsed in the store for a few minutes while "assistant" gossiped with her friends. Asked for help and she said to them "its just a time waster, wont be a minute". She then advised me to come back in a few days in the sales. I did this as the interest free credit was tempting but did not notice a sale. We purchased a bedroom carpet at the cost of £1800.00 and agreed to pay the fitter cash. He duly arrived and grumbled all the time that he hated fitting carpets in Glossop; go figure? Apparently it was the old low doors and ceilings, we live in an old cottage. The carpet soon started to wrinkle which this wasn't too noticeable, until now. I have just come off the phone to be, very rudely, told that we would have to pay the fitter again. No apology, nothing. I pointed out that the job wasn't done correctly in the 1st place, but he said it only had a 12 month fitters guarantee. The carpet is still in excellent condition but I do expect it to be fitted to the floor correctly. This has not been fitted, at the beginning, to make it fit for purpose.
