Carpet ok. Let down badly by fitter
Bought a hall/stair carpet, including free fitting, from Livingston branch. While paying (over the phone) I was told that approx. £80 would be deducted from the price and must be paid in cash to the fitter. On the plus side, appointments were kept, although we were given nothing in writing (no written quote, invoice or receipts from either the company or their fitter). The fitter left our new paintwork excessively chipped and scratched and a door now drags across the new carpet. Two weeks later, Carpetright still have not divulged his name, whilst insisting the damage is nothing to do with them as the fitting "contract" is between the customer and the fitter. They claim their "independent" fitters, among other things, are Which? Trusted Traders. I doubt whether this is the case. Definitely not recommended.
