During the fitting I was told there was actually another £410 or so due to be paid The fitter lifted all my old carpet and left it in a massive heap, and only THEN told me about the £410, and said if I didn't pay today he'd leave and stop working, thereby forcing me to have to try to call my bank to move money around to pay him, or else he'd leave the house in a state The house was a mess after the fitting because the fitters had no problem leaving large scraps of carpet discarded everywhere I understand after fitting it would be messy, but to clear up I had to empty my vacuum about 3 times in the space of 20 mins as there was that much debris all over the place. The fitters also forgot, or couldn't be bothered, carpeting a landing cupboard space which was included in the original measure. The old carpet is still there, though I paid for an uplift too. Then on the Monday 13, when I went to sit at my work desk which the fitters had moved, it collapsed the second I touched it I complained immediately. I tried to fix the desk but it was broken beyond repair, so I threw it out and bought a replacement. Then, the Stockport store manager got back to me on Thursday 16 to say that unless I could show them the desk, they wouldn't be taking it further.
