Cloudy2Clear Derby, Nottingham & Chesterfield

A month ago a Cloudy2Clear employee measured and quoted for replacements for the double glazing in 4 windows. We were given a fitting date. Shortly after, the date was changed. On the appointed day two guys turned up - from Nottingham, not the local branch. Two of the windows - the plain ones were fine. The other two were the right size, but other details were wrong. We asked for the errors to be rectified - this was refused. We asked again, and were refused again. We were given two choices - either the original panes and no charge, or the wrong panes fitted, albeit at a reduced price. It appears the original guy was at fault — specifying wrongly — but the two fitters were hardly protecting the reputation of Cloudy2Clear.

I was initially very impressed with the friendly manner, speed and efficiency of the 2 fitters. The 5 panes of glass were replaced and I paid the fee. However, I then noticed that cracks had appeared to the left hand side of 2 of the windows. The reaction of the senior fitter, to my astonishment, was to be rude, offensive and disrespectful. He said that he had been doing his job for 16 years and that he “knew” the cracks were already there. They weren’t. He proceeded to fill in the cracks whilst continuing to rant, again and again, that he “knew “ they already existed. They didn’t. I told him he was making me feel very uncomfortable but this had no effect on his rudeness. Having completed the filling, and heading towards the door, he asked sarcastically whether there were cracks anywhere else that needed filling in. As he left through the front door, he randomly sprayed some filling at the door frame. My husband arrived home 10 minutes later and I cried. I don’t believe this fitter would have spoken to me in that way, nor tried to say the cracks were already there, if my husband had been at home with me. I emailed Cloudy2Clear to complain about his behaviour. I received a prompt reply in which they agreed said behaviour was unacceptable. They apologised twice that this had happened to me and said the fitter’s manager would be speaking to him. They also said they would give me a 10 percent discount if I felt able to use them in the future.

I contacted Cloudy2Clear for a quote to repair 3 damaged UCPC windows (2 cloudy and the other cracked) at my house. The company assessor visited our house at an agreed appointment and provided a very reasonable quote to replace damaged window glass. A week later a Cloudy2Clear team returned, on schedule, and fitted new replacement glass panels to the damaged windows. Excellent experience with the company from the first contact with their office to the assessor's visit and then to completion by the installation team. An outstanding customer-focused company whose staff were polite, competent, efficient and their service excellent value for money. Cloudy2Clear would be my first choice for any future UPVC window requirements that I have.

Just had all my glass in front of house plus a few more replaced. 17 panes in total. Mick came out and measured up. No sales pressure. I called him back to say we would like to go ahead. He gave me a time and date. Didn't want a deposit (even though we had 17 panes). Fitters turned up, right date and time, every window fits. Got the job done and left no rubbish behind. Nothing in our bins either. Paid Mick and we are really happy with them. Looks like we have had new windows for a fraction of the price.…Happy Oakwood home owner

We recently used Cloudy2Clear to replace some faults double glazing panels (1 x patio door and 2 x windows) in one of our rented flats. They visited within 24hrs of our first call and quoted us a very competitive price. We were away when work was scheduled to be carried out however they liaised the installation with the managing agent. The actual window frames are wooden but you can hardly see any impact to the paintwork and all areas were left clean. We have also used them in the past for our own house. Have no problem in giving them the highest recommendation.

We needed to have 3 double glazing panes replaced. We got a quote very promptly after contacting the company and a date was arranged for installation. As they were in the the area the day before they contacted us to see if they could come a day early which worked out really well. Very pleased with the work and would be happy to recommend.

We saw this company on Trusted Traders and rang for someone to come and quote for replacement window. We had to ring to chase up to get someone to come which they did. A quote was given and we rang to confirm acceptance and agree on installation. I agreed date and time, stressing that afternoon was only acceptable as husband had prior appointment in the morning and I was at work. We agreed between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. On the appointed day my husband returned at 1.30 and there was an answerphone message from the fitter asking where was I he had turned up, he said appointment was between 9 and 2. He had not left us a number to return his call. My husband rang immediately and spoke to the receptionist who said she would get someone to contact us. They did not get back to us. I rang again and spoke to a different person expressing my annoyance and that I had had enough of this poor service. He said he would get someone to call us back and to date we have never heard anything else from this company. I would at least have expected a call with apologies or explanation. Very disappointed indeed, as this is supposed to be a trusted trader company. It may be a local issue with Derby branch but they have let this company down.
