We live in a conservation area and have over 20 trees in our garden, all old and all with preservation orders. Dartmoor Tree Surgeons have completed work for us on several occasions, liaising with the Tree Officer from the local Council on our behalf to agree works to both benefit the trees and the needs of ourselves and our neighbours. We have had different teams working in our garden and they have always, without exception, been polite and pleasant to deal with, skilled in their work, careful and tidy. Dartmoor Tree Surgeons tended to a selection of our trees; they are very skilled in their assessment of what will work for the tree as well as what is required from the customer. They were also very interested to see how the trees tolerated their last lop/prune with respect to how much they could handle this time. We have had trees lopped, pruned, thinned, pollarded and felled completely. Dartmoor Tree Surgeons removed a 300 year old oak for us that had had it's TPO removed as it was structurally unsound. It was a tricky job that involved the use of a crane. DTS were professional and helpful throughout and kept us well informed of the procedure and liaised with neighbours and residents affected. I had the following work carried out on my oak tree, I had a reduction of the canopy of the oak tree overhanging the garden by 1.5 metres. One low limb on the north side was pruned back. The epicormic growth on the main stem of the tree was removed. The dead wood was removed from the entire tree. Due to an existing Tree Preservation Order, a successful application was made to the council for the works to be completed prior to the work commencing. All arising material from the work was removed cleanly from the property. Dartmoor Tree Surgeons visited my property within a short time frame of my initial enquiry and the visit was followed up with the quotation within twenty four hours. In the initial visit a careful assessment was made of the works to be carried out and all discussions were allowed time for and my questions were answered in a way that made sense to me. The work was completed in a morning and the two tree surgeons on the day were very polite and helpful and their work was methodical and well organised. The tree looks great now and in good shape and I am delighted with the outcome, any fears I might have had that the tree might loose some of its natural beauty haven't happened at all and it has a beautiful natural appearance again but reduced on the garden side. Thank you for taking the care to look after the tree and to maintain the beauty of its shape for us to enjoy in the future.
