Darren, Gary and their team at DG Construction, carried out a significant amount of work on my bungalow to a very high standard. Communication was excellent and they were very keen to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. They were approachable and helpful at every stage. Darren's diplomacy with regards to concerned neighbours helped to make the experience less stressful than it could have been. I know I will call on them in the future if needed again.

Darren and his team are great. They recently retiled our roof on a small terraced house. From the start Darren was available to discuss all aspects of the work and was particularly helpful when it came to organising the scaffolding as the house has no back access. When the start date had been agreed, Darren and his team started on time. They remained punctual, professional and courteous throughout. As the work progressed Darren was always on hand to discuss any questions that we might have and to explain how the tiling was progressing. During a period of torrential rain that occurred over the weekend, Darren contacted us and came out to check everything was okay. We are happy with the finished roof. Gary came back to do a smaller re-pointing job and this was undertaken in the same calm professional manner. The team are experienced and hardworking, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend to others.

I needed a builder to come and look at a wall in my dining room that had damp patches on. Darren came to have a look and I was impressed that he spent some time in trying to find the cause of the problem, and what the work to fix it would involve. He sent me a written estimate for the work, which was broken down into stages. I liked his professional and helpful manner. I agreed the work, and Darren and Gary came to do the first stage of re-rendering the damp part of the wall. Gary then came regularly to complete the further stages of removing old internal plaster and re plastering the damaged part of the wall. During this time, Darren would contact to give advice and ask how the wall was drying out. I was so pleased that they were able to fit this smaller job in, as they had been very busy with larger projects. The whole work was done very efficiently, and they were always punctual. I can certainly recommend them.

Darren and Gary did an awesome job in transforming our Kitchen. Always a great job from them. Will always recommend.

We had two walls knocked through one being a supporting wall, so lots of steelwork involved which was carried out to the instructions of the structural engineer. They supplied their own workmen who we found very trustworthy and competent. They fitted a lovely kitchen and we’re accommodating of the many changes that we made along the way. Overall we were very pleased with the end result and would definitely recommend them. What I would advise though is to know exactly what you want as in making changes delays time and costs can escalate.

Darren and Garry are very professional in their dealings. They are prompt, truthful and very experienced. We really enjoyed their quality service during our Garage conversion project. I will always recommend them just as I have recommended them to my neighbour.

In almost 40 years of having home improvements carried out, every single one - without exception - has ended badly for me. This, in spite of using tradesmen who were highly recommended by friends and family. This time, I used D&G Construction Essex Ltd., which I found on Which? Trusted Traders, and am delighted with the outcome. Needing a 3rd set of soffits and fascias, 4th lot of guttering plus asbestos removal and disposal, I was beginning to despair. On first meeting Darren, I was impressed by his quiet and professional approach to the job I needed to be carried out. He supplied a detailed written quote and then a contract when the work and price was agreed. Both he and his team were punctual, respectful of my property as well as to me, and despite a few problems encountered along the way, provided only solutions to those issues that arose. They were tidy, completed the job both within budget and time-frame quoted, and I wish I’d used them on previous home improvements. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them both in person and on Which? They made the entire project completely painless and hassle-free. I’m over the moon. Thank you!

After our previous positive experience we hired DG Construction again to refurbish our bathroom. Once again, we are very happy with the workmanship. We especially liked that Darren spent much time with us laying out several different tiling patterns before laying them so we could visualise the look. Also, we wanted our shower tray laid uniquely and Gary and his son worked tirelessly throughout the heat to fit it as per our requirements (which was not easy!). Whatever design ideas we had, they worked hard to fulfil our expectations and deliver the end results we desired. They were meticulous in their approach. The refurb has made such a difference to the appearance of our bathroom and we are very happy with the end result. Fab as always. Thank You Darren and Gary (and team!)

We moved into our new house during covid and had many jobs to get the house as we needed it. The work included walls knocked through, structural beams, windows replaced with double doors, loft access/boarding and wall installation. DG Construction was our last tradesman visit. We especially liked that Darren stayed for at least an hour inspecting the sites thoroughly working everything out in detail. We felt that Darren was a perfectionist in his work. Also, Darren had a lovely manner and we felt he would be easy to communicate with well throughout the job. We were thrilled when the quote arrived at a reasonable cost. Throughout the work Darren and Gary were brilliant. Both are polite and professional and at the end of each day they left our home tidy. At every stage they asked for our preferences as to how we wanted certain finishes completed. The quality of the workmanship was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Both took the time to explain any building complications and worked with us to find satisfactory solutions, often going over and above to suit our preferences, like me being fussy about how I wanted my beam fitted! We often had to leave them alone working in our home and they proved themselves to be honest and trustworthy. We are really happy with the finished outcomes, so much so, that we booked them again for our bathroom refurbishment. I doubt we would go anywhere else now if we needed any other projects carried out.

We had a leak coming from around the chimney breast and contacted several traders.DG construction was one of the few to have the decency to reply. Darren visited us very quickly and explained what appeared to be wrong(after getting up on the roof). We were given an estimate and contract form in writing. We agreed on a price and arranged that Darren would do the job as soon as the weather permitted. On the arranged day, Darren and Gary got straight to work. They were very polite, friendly and managed to social distance. Their work was very professional and kept us informed what they were doing. When the job was completed they cleaned and tidied up. I would not hesitate to use this company again. In fact, we have asked Darren to price another job for later in the year. Highly recommended.
