Frames Conservatories Direct are a family run business, trading in Bury St Edmunds since 2001. We install throughout East Anglia and have showrooms in both Bury St Edmunds and Ely.

We are a bit different to most of our competitors - we don't employ hard-sell, pressure techniques.  Customers come to us with a need for home-improvement (which could be windows, doors, a conservatory, exterior cladding, a brick-built extension or, a garage or loft conversion etc.) we talk through the options with them before giving them a price.
Our fitting teams are all employed by us and are polite, professional and efficient and receive great feedback from our customers.  Every fitter is qualified to NVQ Level 2.

We are proud of the repeat business we get from customers and we are one of the few installers in the area who have a BSi Kitemark for Window Installation.

We have three showrooms for you to visit so you can try products before you buy them.

In addition we are now an approved Ultraframe Installer.

Another good installation by FCD Bury St Edmunds

We have used FCD several times over the last 15/20 years. This includes complete PVC double glazing, doors and conservatory. This latest job was to update the conservatory with a solid/tiled roof to vastly improve insulation and comfort. Every job has been completed promptly and efficiently. We are happy to highly recommend all the team.

1st class door shoddy customer service.

Waiting nearly 4 months for any sort of contact about our order and that was by ourselves. Promised then that it would be a couple of days only for us to ring again two weeks later. Eventually it was in and installation was arranged for 8 am sharp Monday morning( stressed a number of times 8 am!!). Took the day off. No show but no contact from them. Rang but told they were on the way. Turned up Thursday. Fitter was very apologetic and said this is normal now.

Let down by a Trusted Trader

We found that the company has issues with * Trickle vents * Communication When the salesman called we had a long conversation about trickle vents being necessary for ventilation of our new sliding patio door. However, these were not itemised on the contract and the omission only came to light after the installation was complete. We reluctantly paid for the installation. The company made a reasonable verbal offer to replace the patio doors, this time with trickle vents. We accepted the offer and we tried to get confirmation that the order was agreed, but numerous phone calls and emails were not returned. The first confirmation we got was a phone call 8 weeks later to ask to fit the next day. FCD cancelled on the day of the visit as the company hadn’t ordered trickle vents again. This added another 6 weeks to the delays. The quality of the installations was good, as was value for money, but it was a stressful experience.

Always nervous of whether you have made the right choice in choosing a company to carry out work that is costing a considerable amount of money, but my fears were soon laid to rest. First sign was when the fitters (Chris and Jamie) turned up on time to rebuild the top half of my conservatory, and straight away got on with the job of dismantling the old sides and roof in no time. There was good communication between us on each day as to what the plan was to be. Even more impressed was when at first was told that all glass would be going in last and then to find out that on the second day there was rain forecast for the night they worked extra hard to get the glass in everywhere to ensure it was sufficiently sealed to stay dry. They were neat and tidy and always left the garden as they found it. Also, must mention Michael the bricklayer who come to do some alterations and once again went above and beyond to accommodate my OCD and do an excellent job. Would not hesitate to recommend FCD to my friends and family.

The guys who came to fit my new roof for this company (Tony and Bradley) were great. On time, polite, friendly, tidy they did an amazing job under very difficult circumstances. But in the end they completed it and it looks gorgeous. Thank you Tony and Bradley. The job started March 2nd and was finished April 19th. The roof was removed and after a couple of days it was found that the new struts had been cut wrong so work stopped but I was left with no roof because the weather looked fine. My conservatory overnight got rain and hail on the semi covered floor. Next day a tarpaulin roof was put on and a new layer on the “dried” floor, but water was under the first covering on the wood laminate floor so my floor underneath is ruined but Frames Conservatories Direct are accepting no responsibility for that and gave me a discount of £525 even though as you can imagine it will cost far more than that to rectify. I am so upset by the way they have treated me I now cannot afford a new floor so my plans of having a lovely conservatory are shot because I got my roof done but now cannot afford to get my flooring done which before I got my roof done didn’t need doing!!! Hi There Su, It is, unfortunately, true your contract did not go completely to plan. We only wish our supplier had not made the mistake they did when they made your roof wrong. I'm sure you would agree we turned over every stone to resolve the issue for you as speedily as we could even though we were working to our supplier's timescales. Also, just to put the floor issue into context, when we were first invited to quote for your job there was a panel missing from the roof, this in its self would have exposed the floor to weather damage. While we did everything we could to minimise any further damage, the floor was very probably already damaged. We do everything we can to ensure that a project goes according to plan but sometimes things outside of our control can go wrong and as you have witnessed we will do whatever it takes to get things back on track as soon as we can. Hopefully, you will be able to enjoy your new roof for years to come, thank you for choosing Frames Conservatories Direct to refurbish your conservatory.
