Richard has been out before to service and maintain our heating systems. We found the boiler fitted into our newly purchased Victorian house wasn’t up to heating and hot water so asked for advice on the right product. We are thrilled with the product that Richard advised. Buckets of hot water, warmer home and easier to control. On top of that I have just had my gas bill in and it is £400 cheaper than the same period last year. Richard completed the work swiftly and cut no corners moving pumps and drains that had been incorrectly fitted previously. Would highly recommend.

I was looking to replace my existing boiler and I contacted Richard who had previously repaired my old boiler. After surveying the job, he supplied a quote later that day, which was in line with other quotes I had got. He was able to install the boiler later that week on my day of choice. During installation I was impressed with his professionalism and working into the evening to ensure we had our heating back that night.

The boiler had not been working for about six months. In the run up to Christmas, I was concerned about pipes freezing. I also felt motivated to do something. I phoned Grampian Plumbing and Heating Ltd and asked them to have a look. There was no hurry. I asked them by email how much it would cost, and they did not reply. I spoke to Richard on the phone. I said that I thought it was a problem with the expansion vessel. He gave me the impression, that he was less interested in doing a repair and more interested in selling me a new system. Richard arrived on time, and he found the fault with the boiler, a stuck gas valve. He quoted £166.80 for the gas valve plus 20% Vat equals £200. I could buy the same valve for £60 including Vat. He quoted me a price for fitting the valve £274.80 There was no guarantee that this would fix the central heating system. He also gave me a price for a new combi boiler. This part of the quote was very hurried and not very specific with respect to dates etc. Initially, I agreed to have the gas valve installed. However I quickly had second thoughts, and at the next day, at the earliest opportunity, I informed him. He has charged me for the first visit and the cancelled second visit. I think his charges are excessive! Furthermore, when I first contacted Grampian Plumbing and Heating they were not upfront about their charges. I noticed that even during a very busy period that they were not busy.

Dear valued customer, We are sorry to hear that you feel let down by our customer service. Through conversation with yourself prior to our arrival, you advised us that the boiler was non operational and your son had been living without heating and hot water for 6 months. you had suspected the expansion vessel and had ordered one yourself. You also advised that you were considering replacing the boiler after the new year. We advised a charge of £60+vat for attending and any parts required to repair your boiler would be quoted for at this visit for your authorisation. Richard arrived on site and tested the operation of the boiler and diagnosed the fault with the gas valve, confirming it with the manufacturer, subsequently quoting for its repair. As your boiler is 20 plus years old, we discussed its replacement and issued a separate quotation for your consideration. You accepted the quote for the replacement gas valve and we booked in the revisit for the next day. The next day We contacted you prior to our arrival leaving a voicemail and again on our arrival where You then stated that you had decided not to go ahead as you had changed your mind. As we attended your property for the return visit, you have been charged for the both visits but not the 20% restocking charge we receive for returning the part to the supplier. We understand that through a simple google search, you can find a second hand gas valve on EBay but we will not install second hand parts on any boiler. This is to protect you as a customer as we do not know its history nor importantly, its safety. By using approved part suppliers, we can guarantee the part and offer a 12 month warranty for it. If you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us.

Work completed was annual boiler service. First time using this company and the communication from the initial enquiry until the completion of work was first class. Gary was able to schedule the job at fairly short notice to coincide with my day off work, and Richard phoned me on the day about 30mins before his arrival to ensure I would be at home. Richard was polite and respectful of our property and the work was completed with no inconvenience to ourselves. The Gas Safety Record was email to me same day and invoice followed shortly after. It is not always easy to find trades who communicate this well and stick to what they promise, but Gary and Richard have a friendly yet professional manner that really helps instil customer confidence. I will definitely be using this company for any future gas boiler work, highly recommended.

I have used this company for the past few years in both my homes and they have been brilliant! Work was carried out quickly and when I had an issue and was a mardy Mare they were very professional and came and got the issue fixed! I recommend them to my grandparents too who also agree the prices are low and work is second to none! Richard is brill at what he does too. They serviced my last boiler and came out quickly when it wasn’t working and fixed my new boiler from making an awful sound and leaks when we moved.
