At GreenThumb Aylesbury our team consists of 6 staff, including 5 professionally qualified Lawn Advisors. We treat over 3,500 lawns each year, with each customer generally receiving at least four seasonal lawn treatments annually.

As well as seasonal treatments, we offer autumn/winter treatments, including scarification and hollow-tine aeration, which deal with compaction, removing thatch and keeping moss at bay.

We also carry out specialist treatments for fungal diseases, such as Red Thread, and Nematode treatments for lawn pests, such as Leatherjackets and Chafer grubs.

Alas, unfilled promises aplenty

Originally I was quite satisfied with their lawn care and maintenance surveys - not been a good last year though and I will be calling them very soon to cancel my annual plan. There have been a number of unfulfilled, cancelled, inadequate notice given or delayed appointments, but to concentrate on the most recent... I was emailed (three times over two dates) with an appointment date of 24/07. No show! I called the next day to query and was told 'their system' said the appointment was scheduled for 27/07. This time they knocked on the front door (which couldn't be answered in time) and then left a card to say they were unable to complete the visit 'cause the garden gate was locked.. It wasn't (I had specifically put the latch off that morning and it was still off when I got home from work - I checked) - they didn't even try the gate. I called them again next day and, after some discussion, was advised they would rebook the visit between 1 - 8 August. It is now the 13th (Sunday) and I have had no advice of a visit or a visit. They also missed my Spring treatment (cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances) and we couldn't agree and alternative date (I had chicks hatch four weeks after the originally planned date and couldn't expose them to treatment when so young). So I lost the Spring treatment. A refund was promised but I haven't seen it on my bank statement. Alas, they are a shambles (this last year) and I would not recommend them at all (other than helpdesk Aaron).
