GX Computers offers a repair service for both Apple and Windows equipment that is reliable and cost effective. There is no call out fee and if it not possible to fix your equipment you will not be charged. The company is based in the Gerrards Cross area of South Buckinghamshire.

As well as repairing computer equipment short instructional videos can be produced for you on a range of computers topics. These videos are geared personally to you and run from the GX Computers website; the videos enable you to get the most out of your equipment. Many clients have found these short instructional videos really helpful.

Dave restored my MacBook Pro to working order after it was failing to load past the progress bar. He also installed the newest operating system (Catalina) and Libre Office (MS Office type free program). It is now working as good as new, very speedy and efficient! I contacted Dave during the lockdown period (May 2020), a time when it was crucial for me to have a working laptop in order to continue working from home, and he really couldn't have been more helpful. It was comforting to know my laptop was in safe hands, as he came highly recommended to me. Dave also made two tutorial videos, which he added to my laptop to help me use the new programs. I thought this was really considerate and also very helpful. After he returned the laptop he contacted me via email to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. A brilliant and friendly service - highly recommended!

Dave Kidner updated my PC's operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and, in doing so, encountered a rather tricky intermittent problem with the PC that I hadn't recognised. Dave went to great lengths to identify and crack the problem, complete the update and return a now more reliable PC to me, all in a short timescale, and for which I am very grateful. I found Dave personable and very easy to work with. He was generous with his advice and support and his pricing was very fair. I would willingly approach Dave again if needed and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Dave did some excellent work for us, tidying up PC operations, simplifying wherever possible, removing unnecessary elements, cleaning up email etc. Thus PC speed was increased and operational efficiency was improved. Good communication throughout, pricing very fair and Dave is a nice guy to work with. We heartily recommend him.

Dave Kidner supplied a reconditioned computer with wireless mouse to replace an old and noisy model. He brought three for me to try, took great care to ascertain my requirements and let me know the very reasonable cost of materials and labour. He loaded Windows 10, transferred my documents, photos and music, made sure I could use my existing printer and could find my way around. He also uploaded some helpful video tutorials. I found Dave to be friendly, easy to talk to, helpful, punctual when visiting, and the work was done on time and on budget. He is knowledgeable, doesn't speak jargon, and doesn't recommend something that wouldn't be right for you. He has taken an old hard drive to dispose of and I am confident that any personal data will be destroyed. I am also confident that further assistance is available as/if required. I was quite nervous about it all but actually, it was a good experience. Would happily recommend.

The hard disk on my laptop was corrupted by a virus, and the first technician I gave my laptop to informed me that all the music libraries I had built up over several years were unrecoverable. I then got in touch with Dave at GX Computers (which I really should have done in the first place!), and he worked extremely hard to recover the bulk of my music. I then asked him for advice on buying a new laptop: having ascertained what my specific IT needs were, Dave took charge of sourcing a laptop and tailoring it to my requirements. Since then, he has provided me with personalised video tutorials to help me master new IT skills. In addition, Dave has frequently gone out of his way to be as helpful as possible: he has helped me access useful software, has sourced various additional components, and has made sure at each stage that I am completely happy with his work. As well as offering excellent technical support, Dave is friendly, cheerful and willing to go the extra mile. His IT knowledge is extremely good, but he also has the ability to make IT straightforward for those of us who are less technically inclined – and all this at a very reasonable cost.

My computer wake up was much improved and I had advice over several things. My contacts list was much improved. I was also given a personal video to play giving instructions how to do various things which I tended to forget. Dave Kidner could not have been more helpful and is always ready to call at my home at short notice when he can.
