Mark and his team stripped and replaced whole gable end slating, refit ridge tiles, replaced front guttering. Super job. Quick and reliable. Very polite. Cleared site spot on. 100% satisfaction.

Sadly like most of the 'professional' contractors in this country that I have had to deal with, once the work has been done and paid for, there is just no commitment to customer service. I must say that the original work done was quick and as quoted but a fault appeared with the guttering work where the horizontal section has come away from the down pipe connector. Since the work is guaranteed I tried to contact Mark but to no avail as follows: Emailed - no reply. Text message to first number on invoice - no reply Text message to second number on invoice - no reply Contact via form on website - no reply Telephone to private residence - spoke with someone who said that Mark would be in touch but alas... 3 days later and still no reply. As of today, some 3 weeks after initially contacting, I am yet to have a reply and the guttering is still not working as it should.

Last Summer Mark and his team completely replaced the slate roofing on our house, including the bays, and also refurbished the flat roofs of the dormers. They arrived on time, Mark kept us informed and quickly resolved any problems we had. He kept to budget and also included a few extra repairs in this. We have had no concerns over the winter and are pleased to recommend Mark and his team.

We discovered a broken roof tile was the cause of damp in one of our walls just before Christmas. We had a vision of going through Christmas with the broken tile and bad weather but J Stevens managed to fit the repair in the week before at short notice. The quick turn around, rapid work and quick fix was very much appreciated by my wife and I.

We were very impressed with the excellent customer focussed approach. From the first visit, Mark was very thorough and professional , he explained all issues, suggested various options, explained the benefits of each option and provided a very competitive quotation with a detailed and transparent breakdown of costs. All work was carried out to the highest levels of workmanship using best quality materials and all concerns were dealt with immediately in a professional, no quibble manner and communication during the whole build was excellent. The team were very polite, worked quickly and delivered what was promised. We are delighted with the work carried out and the way in which it was carried out. Our neighbours have also been very complimentary about the quality of the work and the way the team engaged with them and ensured that all disruption was kept to a minimum. Having had the house valued by a local estate agent after the work was completed, we have been advised that the value of the house has increased. We would not hesitate to recommend Mark and JStevens. We do not expect to need a new roof on this house for many years, in the event that we move and need any roofing services our first call will be to JStevens.

Mark and everyone involved was courteous and professional - and friendly - at all times during the work and afterwards. The roof repairs included replacing crumbling concrete fillets with lead flashing to the parapet walls and chimney stacks to the front and rear of the roof, replacing any damaged tiles at the same time. Everything was completed on time and the job left clean and tidy. Mark arranged to do some additional work that was needed to complete the job properly, which he didn't charge for as he said he had given me a quote for the work and stood by it. That kind of integrity is rare and very much appreciated. Mark is also open about contacting the company after the work is completed in case of questions and is keen to maintain a positive relationship.

We had a hole in the roof caused by some damaged/missing tiles and also an area of cracking to the rendering of our house, a combination of which had caused water to come into the house. Mark came on time to provide an estimate, explain what was needed and provided the estimate quickly. The estimate represented good value compared to others we received and the work was done on time and to a good standard. We would use this company again in the future.

J. Stevens turned up on time, were very polite and hard working and did an excellent job re-leading the two sides of the front roof in Fulham. They left the site clean and tidy, having finished their work on time. I would recommend them and also Mrs Stevens, who runs the office, as she is polite, helpful and efficient in letting you know what's happening at any stage. CG

Mark and his team couldn't have been more professional and quick to respond. They did a great job (rebuilt our flat roof and replaced the guttering to the rear of the house). Tidied up on a daily basis and did the job quickly and on time. Mark arranged the scaffolding, at a competitive price, and its removal. When the guttering needed tweaking, after heavy rain, and the scaffolder knocking the end off, Mark returned promptly and fixed the problem without question.
