British Gas, with whom I have a service contract, came in the week before the February/March snow, and did a patch up job saying they are putting my boiler on the ‘restricted service list’ due to its age and lack of spare parts. Two days later, my boiler again failed to start and I had no heating or hot water on the coldest night of the year. British Gas actually ‘closed’ down their service line due to demand and were impossible to contact. I feel very lucky to have discovered John. He came at night in the worst weather, expertly diagnosed the problem, easily found and acquired the spare part, and fixed the condensate pipe which had frozen. He is smart, conscientious, and honest. He did everything over and above the call of duty, and saved me from a tricky situation of either freezing or having to get a new boiler at the worst time of the year. My ‘obsolete’ boiler is working like a charm and I cannot recommend John highly enough.
