Martin answered the phone when I called him and came round the next day. A light and a couple of plug sockets had stopped working under the stairs and in the hallway. Martin and his son were very professional, they gave us reassurances to put our minds at ease and a clear explanation of the problem. They diagnosed the issue and gave a very reasonable quote for the work. Within a few days the work was satisfactorily completed in a couple of hours with no mess left behind. I will definitely contact Martin for any future electrical work and highly recommend his business.

Martin and Niall came mid morning Tuesday after my 9.00 am phone call. Checked out what I thought was initially a faulty alarm box, that turned out to be a defunct fuse box. Niall came back on the thursday to replace the fuse box and checked out the house wiring. I was completely satisfied with the work done and the time taken to complete. A professional job in all aspects.

Martin and Niall completed work on our new central heating system and heated towel rail, which the original supplier was unable to do. They wired and installed an isolator switch and timer for the towel rail, outside the bathroom, and showed us how the eco system worked. They also installed a mains supply for a 2.5 kw heater on a separate ring main from the other heaters, to avoid overloading the circuit. They installed a double socket on a separate line in the bedroom for medical equipment, for safety reasons. They were cheerful, friendly and they cleaned up after themselves. they also took on board and sorted out the issues we raised about the risk of overloading the circuits. They have done other work for us, again connected with health issues, and we would recommend them highly.

Martin fit us in at short notice after I'd realised I'd been overly ambitious with attempting the work myself. He fitted a new light pendant for us, worked quickly and left the place tidy. Reasonably priced too. Would highly recommend!

Found Markel on Which? Trusted Traders. We were given good advice and good suggestions when Martin visited to see the job. They were to fit new kitchen lights and wiring and then to diagnose a problem with an outside light. When doing the work Martin and Niall worked well together and made rapid progress with little mess. At all stages they explained what they were doing and how they would overcome problems. After discovering the fault with the outside light was in the wiring they suggested a completely different solution that avoided mess and disruption. All the work was completed quickly and carefully and we are very satisfied with the result. We were dreading carpets having to be lifted in the bedrooms above the kitchen to do the wiring but they did this easily and cleared up the little mess left at the end. We would certainly use them again and would recommend them to other people.

I contacted Martin for the first time after finding him on Which? Trusted Traders, as it seemed safer than randomly searching for traders on google (which I did recently when seeking a joiner – with disastrous results). This time round I know I made the right choice. Martin and Niall fitted two inline extractor fans, undertook some re-wiring to add additional switch functions to our existing kitchen lighting and installed a double socket. There were some tricky aspects to the re-wire but the work was in the right hands. Martin and Niall did a really excellent job. They demonstrated themselves to be experienced, methodical problem-solvers. They were also friendly and courteous and treated our home with respect. They cleaned up as they went along and their price was right. If you're looking for top-notch work I can't recommend them highly enough.

Martin and Niall renewed our garden lighting and we are so very pleased with the result, it’s transformed our garden at night, it looks amazing. They provided a reliable service and had excellent communication with us.

We needed our outdated electrics completely redoing in our outhouse, and outside w.c, so I found Markel Electric on Which?. Martin was polite, offered advice when asked, and explained not only what he was planning on doing, but also why. We had a quote within 24 hours of his visit and the work was completed on time, as promised, to a very high standard with no residual mess. Certainly competitively priced too. I would not hesitate to recommend and will use him again when needed.

Martin and his son were extremely prompt, polite and efficient. They sourced and replaced some ceiling lights for us and removed a gas hob and replaced it with an electric induction hob, not an easy job but one which they completed with no fuss or complaints. Great value for money too! I definitely recommend them.

Both Martin and Niall are clearly very experienced and quickly traced the fault to a cable feeding an appliance on the lighting circuit. Very thorough, communicative and reasonably priced. Helped at short notice. Will definitely use again. Highly recommended!
