We lost power to the sockets in our house. The fuse box had tripped and would not switch back on. Nigel took my call and agreed to help at short notice. He turned up on time and quickly identified the problem. The fault was sorted with minimal disruption. Charged a fair price for a good job. A very friendly and honest service. Highly recommended.

We are very happy with NJC electrician. Nigel is an excellent communicator. He came promptly on time as promised and fitted a new LED bathroom light. I was given Nigel's contact details through a company I have used previously. I contacted him and arranged for him to call the tenant directly to set up a convenient date and time for the electrical inspection. On the day of the test one of the tenants, unfortunately, tested positive for Covid 19. Although it was less than an hour before the appointment, Nigel took it all in his stride and said just to get back in touch once they were better. After a month Nigel called me to remind me that the EICR needed to be rearranged. This was done between him and the tenant. He turned up on time, carried out the work and called me to let me know about the remedial work that was needed and the cost of it. I agreed to this and he arranged to complete it with the tenant. Again, the work was completed on time and the date arranged. A great experience to work with someone who does what they say they will when they say they will!!

Comprehensive Report and Excellent Communications

We asked Nigel Cowley to carry out an inspection of the electrical infrastructure in our house, which dates from the 1920s, and also to make safe lighting and switches. Nigel was very professional in planning the visit; providing a briefing on the scope of his work and an estimate of the cost; and was then very good at letting us know when he could carry out the work. Having arrived at the stated time, Nigel carried out the visual inspection and talked through with us his findings and the remedial work required. [Nigel was excellent in providing an oral briefing of what he had found and the consequences of that.] We have received a written report from Nigel which is equally thorough and helpful in its content. It was also thoughtful to include with the report the best practice guide on EICR from Electrical Safety First. Overall, we were very pleased with the quality of service provided by Nigel which we have no hesitation in rating as five star.

Now used Nigel a few times and he has been excellent. Turns up when he says he is going to do. Very helpful, for example he has suggested things that are different to what I asked him to do and actually cost me less money. Very tidy worker. Would recommend to anyone.

Electrical Inspection Condition Report

NJC Electrical Services, were contacted to carry out the inspection. Nigel has great communication skills both in answering our initial call, setting up an appointment and on the appointment day. He explained the procedure, was polite, friendly and careful throughout the day. He wore a mask due to Covid. Nigel gave us initial reports on some of the problems he found and made safe a dangerous plug. He didn't waste time and worked continuously throughout the afternoon. Although the work took longer than expected he stayed to finish and charged the original quoted price. This was very reasonable compared to estimates found on line for similar work. His full report was emailed out within a couple of days, including photographs of all the areas he inspected. Also at our request recommended electricians he has worked with for us to contact for remedial work to be carried out. I would definitely recommend Nigel and rate him very highly.

Put my mind at rest

Nigel came to do an electrical test on a property we had just bought. There were that many things wrong with our electrics - he spent all his time making it safe for us as it was dangerous. That was peace of mind on its own. He put my mind at ease and told me it would be ok until the work was carried out. He certainly knows what he’s doing and I know I can 100% trust him. All my electrics have been done now which took a full five days and included a new fuse board and partial rewire of some sockets. I would not hesitate to use Nigel again.
