North London Heating and Plumbing provide London and the surrounding areas of North London such as Finchley, Enfield and Islington with a genuine 24 hour emergency service on all plumbing, heating and drainage problems.

We provide a full package from general water system work to waste disposals and burst pipes. A wide range of expert services from experienced team members offering not only the services we’ve mentioned but also boiler repairs and boiler installations, as well as bathroom fitting.

NLHP’s staff have been helping the London community for over 65 years and remains to this day a family run business. All of our engineers are highly trained, Gas Safe registered and qualified to the highest of standard.

With our vast experience, this enables us to deal with the most complicated of problems efficiently and as we have a large stock of plumbing and heating materials, the problem can usually be resolved within the first visit.

Barny, Jo and the team were brilliant to work with from initial engagement through to the completion of our bathroom renovation and redecoration project. They were organised, considerate of us and what we wanted to achieve and always at the end of the phone for any questions we had as the project progressed. The team on our project were punctual, provided daily updates on progress and asked for input whenever decisions were required.

I had North London Heating and Plumbing Ltd to install a new bathroom in my home, and I am very impressed with the exceptional service they provided. From start to finish, their professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail were outstanding. Right from the initial consultation, the team showed a good understanding of my requirements and preferences. Barney from the team took the time to listen to my ideas and offered valuable suggestions to enhance the functionality and look of the installation. Their knowledge of shower systems and the latest industry trends was evident and helped me avoid expensive mistakes. They also helped me choose great value for money products to install. The installation process itself was carried out with precision and efficiency. The guys arrived promptly as scheduled, equipped with all the necessary tools and materials. Their workmanship was flawless and even my husband was impressed! They paid meticulous attention to every detail, the finished shower looks absolutely fantastic. What impressed me the most was the team's professionalism and respect for my home. They were clean and tidy throughout the installation, and on completion, they left the area spotless. It really felt like they took pride in their work and cared about my home. Best thing - not only does it look fantastic but I now get 3 times the water flow in the shower. This company was recommended to me through family as they have just completed a kitchen installation at my parents in London(which looks fantastic) so I gave them a call for a bathroom quote and Chris was amazing from start to finish, the whole process was flawless and the workmanship was second to none! Tradesmen on the job were polite and friendly and always cleaned their mess up at the end of the day and had all the protective measures in place. By all means it was not the cheapest quote as I had specific furnishings I wanted but the quality and the end result was amazing, can’t fault the company.

I called North London Heating and Plumbing today, having had no hot water or heating due to boiler having stopped working. Spoke to Barnaby, who said they could come today if needed, but he talked me through trying to get it going and that worked. I am so grateful for the help I got, great service and really quick response. So thankful I was able to speak to an engineer straight away. I would definitely recommend and I know who to contact next time I need help with the boiler. thank you.

Total lack of communication
I phoned on a Friday evening as I had a leaking water valve. The person I spoke to was pleasant, said that they were very busy but they'd try to get to me the following day but possibly not before 9 pm. At 8.55 pm I phoned just to make sure someone was coming. The answerphone message said that they were very busy but would call me back within five minutes. As I'd heard nothing I tried again at 9.55 pm and again at 11.10 pm, really to see if I could go to bed. I stayed up until 3.35 am. No visit, no call back.

We employed NLHP to do a bathroom refurb in 2020. Part of the service offered is "We have a world class team of bathroom designers and fitters who can help you create your perfect bathroom". The gentleman that designed our bathroom did not size it properly and as a result we had to compromise on the finished shower cubicle - this oversight on its own I can perhaps forgive. We went for a tiled floor which we have had no end of trouble with and is still not sorted as of today. Getting hold of NLHP to get them to come and fix the problem was nigh on impossible the first time in 2021 and is proving equally as difficult this time around. Their customer service is terrible and I regularly receive the feedback "the phone lines are just so busy". Our 2.5 year old daughter uses this bathroom and at present, it is not fit for purpose, a fact that doesn't seem significant to the team at NLHP. Employ these guys at your own risk.

Vaillant boiler not registered with Vaillant

I was quoted a ten year warranty with Vaillant. Despite repeatedly requesting registration during the first two years and repeated assurances that it had been done it was not registered. I was suspicious things were not right as I received no paperwork from Vaillant. After a two year period it is impossible to register the boiler. I do not have the guarantee as promised. How could they do this when I chased them so often? I can see from reviews that I am not the only person who has had this problem. If you are thinking of having a boiler fitted choose a more reliable company. The fact that they are listed on the Vaillant website means nothing. I have spoken to all these people - Chris Jones, John Morris, Barney, Nick, Joanne. Several of them many times. All promised to get it sorted. They didn't.

I just don't understand how this firm got any 5 star reviews. Apart from a slick website, their performance in our experience is unreliable. We needed a new boiler in 2019. When it came to selling our house this year, it transpired that the boiler installation had not been registered with Gas Safe. It was not easy to get a response from the firm when we raised it with them. Looking at other reviews it seems that we are not the only clients who have had the same problem. The issue was resolved eventually but only after a lot of pushing and aggravation. In addition, we have been informed by another plumbing firm that our flue needs replacing, only three years after the installation. Despite repeated emails and calls to ask them to come and inspect the flue, they have not responded. Ignoring calls and emails seems to be the default response to any follow up issues. They also failed to return and make good as promised after the initial installation. I would not recommend them.

Change a dripping tap in bathroom

Straight forward changing a dripping tap in bathroom sink. When I called them I thought he said we charge £85 for the first hour but when I received their invoice after the work was completed it showed £170. It turned out it was £85 for half an hour and he took just over that time. I found the charge £170 for 1 hour over the top. I wish I had taken more time to find someone much cheaper as I understand the average charge for this in London is between £40 to £100 per hour. I will not be using them again for this over rated charge.

Hot water cylinder fitted badly

They fitted a pressurised hot water cylinder for us. It all went OK until they left, when they said it might cause a problem with the rest of our plumbing. I asked if they would fix it but they said no. Sure enough, the flat sprang a leak and flooded the flats downstairs. Later we discovered that they had also wired it up wrongly, causing the fuses to blow. They had fitted the wrong sort of control unit, jamming two electricity supplies into the one feed. I'm told by the suppliers that this is really very dangerous and incompetent.
