If you call an emergency plumber it is obvious that you need help. My boiler was leaking copiously so I called Joe. He came, removed the front fascia and announced that the heat exchanger had blown. He then cut the main water supply and turned on a tap to drain the entire system. After a few gloomy predictions about the fate of the flooring and some animadversions against our particular make of boiler, he left with his call-out fee. After some days an engineer arrived with a new heat exchanger which proved to be unnecessary: it was the auto air vent that had failed as Joe would have known if he had removed the inner cover and taken a look. The false diagnosis had simply lengthened the time we had to wait for a repair while a new heat exchanger was ordered. As for cutting the main water supply, all that was necessary was to isolate the header tank - but that would have meant going into the loft. Plumbers are not usually effusive in praise of other members of their trade but the engineer that came out with the heat exchanger was certainly less than appreciative of Joe's efforts on our behalf. This engineer, I may add, having quickly repaired the boiler then spent some additional time chasing down an airlock that was preventing the system from functioning properly. From other reviews, it is clear that under other circumstances Joe would be a perfectly good plumber and a Bank Holiday Sunday is a hard call but in this instance, he was alarmist and certainly no help.

Problems with boiler. Asked PHG for a quote and recommendation for replacement. Discussed requirements and agreed the best solution. Boiler was replaced within a week and very satisfied as all long standing problems were solved. Team were extremely efficient and helpful. Would therefore recommend and will use for any future plumbing requirements.

Fixed a central heating valve

We had previous trouble with the three way valve so a recognised the signs Twice in 10 years the motor had been replaced on a valve that had been in place since the house was built over 25 years ago. Time to replace the whole unit before it actually failed, even if it meant draining down and refilling. Work had to be postponed for two days in order to fix someone's emergency. I may need that flexibility one day. Work was all done within 2 hours, with system working better than ever. Pump is a bit noisy but I now know where to get that fixed.

Replacement of boiler, hot water tank and cold water tank.

I started the new year with no central heating and hot water the colour of tea. Joe came on Sunday 3rd January and informed me that I would need a new boiler. The replacement took place the following Tuesday, much to my relief. The following week he replaced the hot water tank, put in a new radiator and a new cold water tank. All work was done efficiently and quickly and hardly any mess. Most impressed and would recommend.

Joe and his team helped us plan a new bathroom and then quoted for the work, We chose them for their reasonable cost and for their helpfulness and flexibility in the quotation phase. They started and finished on time, dealt with the "extras" which arose during the work and provided a final detailed, and not unreasonable, billing. We are very pleased with the finished room and how it was achieved. and would recommend Joe and his team.

Very helpful at very short notice
I contacted Joe at about 6.30 on Sunday 22 December 2019. My mothers boiler was not working, and asked if he could take a look the next day (Monday). He suggested that it would be better if he could take a look on the Sunday evening, to try to establish what the problem might be. I agreed, and phoned my Mother to tell her that Joe would be with her at about 7.30 P.M. on Sunday. Unfortunately, my Mother had just received a call back from an earlier contact with another heating engineer, and had arranged for him to be there shortly. I phoned Joe back, and apologised profusely for wasting his time - spoke to his partner, who said he was already en route to my Mother, but she would phone him to cancel. So although he did not get an opportunity to undertake any work in this instance, the very helpful attitude, and understanding of the subsequent cancellation means that I would not hesitate to contact Joe for future work.

Joe and his team fitted our new bathroom, in West Wickham, and replaced all our radiators. Everything done to the highest professional standard. The large mirror in our bathroom adds a really dramatic touch. All told, an excellent job.

Our central heating timer broke down on the coldest weekend of the winter. Joe came on Sunday morning and quickly and efficiently replaced the timer and fused spur. We were pleasantly warm again by lunch time and the bill was very reasonable. Thanks, Joe.
