Qerb installed a replacement boiler nearly 2 years ago, a condition of the extended warranty being to ensure an annual service is performed. I live about 15 miles from their offices but they refuse to provide such a service quoting that they do not cover my geographical area? Rather surprising as they were very keen to take my installation business and I note that they are currently working in partnership with my local council for the supply and installation of Solar panels? Not the service that I expected and wonder what would happen if there is a breakdown within the warranty?

Sorry to hear you are unhappy with our service. To clarify our business specialise in the provision of heating systems and renewable energy products via ECO grants. As such we employ a team of installers to cover the South West and South Wales. We do not advertise or offer to provide servicing or repairs or such services to customers. This is a different skill set and is a different type of business to our own. All of the boilers we install are provided with a manufacturer warranty, so IF there were to be a problem with your boiler, which I note isn't the case, then the boiler manufacturer provides a helpline for you to call and they will be able to send out a qualified repair technician from their network. This is standard within the heating industry. As such you would not have to wait for your installer to provide help or source a part, as the manufacturer repair engineers carry stock for their spares on their van etc. It is a much better solution. In regards to boiler servicing, this can be completed by any qualified engineer. Whilst we can provide servicing in certain areas, we do not employ service engineers so again this would be much quicker and cheaper for you to contact a local heating engineer. The provision of free solar panels is competed by electricians and not gas engineers, so isn't relevant to any of the above.
Qerb installed a boiler under the government boiler replacement scheme. During the installation they damaged part of my drainage system. I have phoned and emailed many times and even had someone make an appointment to come and look at the damage and another call when I was out without warning. It would seem that they don't care about the damage and are now ignoring my emails. Avoid at all cost.
