I completed my City & Guilds carpentry and joinery qualification in 1988.
My formative years were spent fitting kitchens for what was then the Gas Board.
After four years I was contacted by a hotelier in Brighton who was looking to improve his facilities by adding En-suite to all the rooms. The next six years I spent in three different hotels in Brighton undertaking all aspects of renovation including plumbing alterations, decoration and all aspects of carpentry from sliding sash window renovation to upgrading fire safety.
1998 saw a deviation into shopfitting for C. Brewer & Son. I have been all over the country fitting out their shops and getting involved in flooring, decoration, assembly of manufacturer display stands and joinery in their wallpaper showrooms.
Although I still work for Brewers on a smaller scale mainly maintenance now. I’m looking for more local work hence my involvement with ‘Trusted Trader’ and the Which organisation.
