They provided the best price on the market to start until they have your possessions then it was the addition on, addition until the cost was nearly 3 times higher than the most expensive quote we had got. The price was constantly changing and being added too hidden costs and forgotten costs. We will never use this company again and have no clue as to how they had won any awards? They don't follow instruction, no one answers the phone, they don't get back in contact with you after multiple emails and messages until threatened. They took the money and sat on our stuff for months without a word.

I recently moved the content of our London home to Lisbon. With £5,226 plus insurance, Simpsons provided the best offer for a partial load. A partial load is a service whereby your belonging will be shipped together with other people's belongings. The timing depends on demand for a certain route. This flexibility is spelled out in the T&Cs. Prior to hiring Simpsons, the company send a surveyor who told me that a normal delivery time to Portugal is between one to three weeks. My expectations was built accordingly and we packed our suitcases with everything we needed for three weeks. It has now been 19 days since the collection of the consignment and, after trying to find out the delivery date for more than a week, I was told today that it would not be three weeks but at least six weeks until my goods are delivered. The sales manager was rude and provocative and showed absolutely no empathy, insisting that the company was in its full right to deliver within six or more weeks. Whilst this is correct, the service was missold as I was led to believe that delivery would occur within no more than three weeks. The move itself was well done and the team was very pleasant, five stars. Given the management and communication, I can only recommend not to choose Simpsons for your move.

The main reason for this negative review is that you believe our surveyor advised on the day of survey that delivery would be within 2-3 weeks as a maximum time frame from the date of collection. Our surveyor has subsequently confirmed that any delivery time frame advised is based on previous experience,but as a part load shipment, although the collection is on a mutually agreed date, the delivery is subject to scheduling and availability of our European vehicles. The quote specifically states our policy and customers sign acceptance of these terms at the time of booking toconfirm the basis of the contract being offered. We are sorry you feel that we have not honoured the delivery timeframe you expected.

Recently did an international move (UK to Sweden) with this company and it couldn't of been easier. We had a home visit for the estimate, and didn't end up paying any extra when the volume was again calculated in storage. The removal men were quick and well rehearsed with what the they doing on both sides of the job. Everything came out of storage in exactly the same condition it went in, I was expecting maybe one or two breaks with the nature of the move, but even with some glass furniture i have found no damage. The job was carried out by Simpsons throughout, no third parties for us, the process was four months including requested storage time. This was our first big move so I emailed a lot and always got a concise reply within a day or two. They seem a tad expensive in comparison to other companies but seeing others moving into our building with other companies I see why they are. I definitely recommend them, and will use them again if I ever need too.

My family moved to Canada from the UK this summer. Our belongings were collected in June and almost three months later are still in the UK. They originally gave me an estimate of 6-12 weeks for completion. Had they been more realistic (I find it very difficult to believe that they have such a skewed grasp of their own operation) then I would have gone elsewhere. Communication is cursory. They do respond to emails but only with platitudes (just one more week . . . ) and there was a marked change in posture from the moment we paid them. When we arrived in Canada, they wrote telling us that they didn't know when they would be able to send our belongings, but for an extra £1700 they could send it straight away. We felt as if we were being held to ransom. There was a mistake made with our invoice, but this was an honest one. My wife is a piano teacher. Her piano - and our livelihood - is stuck in the UK. We have now had to rent one at considerable cost, to buy a complete winter wardrobe, and replace our son's toys and books. I don't think they are crooks, but they seem mercenary and defensive - once we paid, they stopped caring. I would advise extreme caution and to get everything in writing. I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that our move has been spoiled by this company.

Simpsons under quoted massively and then once I'd paid the fees asked for more and claimed I'd increased my load volume, which I had not. They held my goods and money twice during the move which was stressful enough. The removal team refused to clear the loft and then left it to the end of the day so they could leave, saying they ran out of time. This meant I had to rope in friends to help me clear the loft as I had broken my back in an accident three years earlier and was not supposed to lift heavy items from a height. The removal van was too small for the shipment and they had to return the following day anyway - the day I was set to leave the country - which completely screwed up our plans and added more stress to the process. I was then charged again for the additional storage - now making their final price higher than any other quote I had received, with my goods held unless I paid. The delivery was another whole saga that I won't bore you with. The only positive thing was that nothing was broken (down to my packing I would add and not to how I witnessed the team handling my goods whilst loading up) and the delivery team were charming guys. The paperwork processes are from another century and they need to get with the 21st century and improve this - it was not clear, was overly wordy and long with key information buried among the terms. Nothing could be done by email - I had to print documents, complete inventory by hand -for a house!

We chose Simpsons because friends of ours had used them before and their estimator was very efficient and professional. Simpsons made the whole process of what was for us a major move to another country a very simple and stress free experience. I recommend you call them if you're thinking of moving.

Moved from Lucerne in Switzerland to Edinburgh. Fantastic job collecting everything from my home in Switzerland and an equally good job delivering to my new home in Edinburgh 8 days later.They took care of the parking restrictions, handled the customs clearance out of Switzerland and into the UK. A faultless service and would I would highly recommend.

What a bad experience, quotation was not correct and I have been to pay more, but it can happen. We suppose to get our goods within 12 weeks, but after we chased them for several weeks trying to have an update we discovered that they were waiting to consolidate the container. Time for it? 9 weeks ...if we are lucky we will receive our items in 16 weeks. Very bad communication and not a clear explanation about the waiting for consolidate a container (it could take forever.)

We have just received our goods in Perth Australia that the Simpson crew packed and shipped for us. I've got to say from the very first call to their office they were professional and understanding as we had some very expensive art work. The quote I got from them did go up but I've go to admit I did take more stuff and I was expecting to pay more as they did tell me "you pay for what you take". In short they were excellent and I would recommend to anyone.
