I'm a chartered mechanical engineer having worked for 30 years in the automotive sector: engines, turbochargers and transmissions. Most VW dealers do not fully understand the service requirements of their performance cars. The Phirm carried my work: oil change service, transmission oil change, brake fluid change (and previously Haldex service). Following discussions, I am confident that they are very knowledegable. They were honest about what needed to be done and did not want to carry out unecessary work. They were very careful with the car using protection sheets on seats etc. They are sensibly priced. Great expert service.

I have been using the Phirm since 07, I’ve come to know Tim and Paul as top mechanics, their knowledge and work ethic is spot on. Since using the Phirm I would go nowhere else. And I live 4 hours away in Yorkshire, if my car can make it there. That’s the only place it’s going. If not it’ll be recovered to them. The work is top quality and to the highest standard. They rebuilt my Rallye Golf last year. And if you saw what they had to start off with........................to which it went to the 2019 UK Rallye Golf Show, and won Best In Show! Testament to their dedication and hard work. Seriously if you own a VAG car, there is only one garage to go.

I have used the Phirm for the last 2 years, on the recommendation of my daughter and son-in-law, to service and maintain my Audi A4 SE Technik TDI. I have been very impressed by the knowledgeable and helpful service and advice which I have received. This week, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, two sensors failed. Paul advised me over the phone and then saw the car yesterday. The car was ready for me to collect today. The level of service and also attention to current hygiene advice was exemplary. I live in a fairly isolated location and am totally dependent on my car for essential supplies and emergencies, so I am very grateful! I highly recommend the Phirm.

I've owned my mk2 golf gti for 11 years. My car started off as a standard 8v. They have done all my servicing, and maintenance. 8 years they also did a mk4 golf R32 conversion which is now supercharged. During the 110'000 miles since, it's never missed a beat! The guys always give you good honest advice. Work is always done on time, and to the highest standard. Their VAG knowledge is ridiculous!!

The Phirm have maintained and repaired my Mk1 TT for the past 4 years. They have always provided sensible and pragmatic advice and completed the work on time and at good price. It’s a 2001 TT that would not be still on the road without the Phirm.

Having owned my 1990 VW Golf Mk2 16v since 2013 I’d never fully sorted the brakes. After failing an mot with seized callipers and poor braking effect I embarked on replacing just the bits needed to pass at another garage. But it seemed the more I replaced at other garages the more it cost me without nailing the problem. With a trackday coming up I booked into the Phirm who carried out remedial work that saw me right at very short notice setting me up for a great weekend. But soon after the problem returned. After talking through the symptoms and possible causes, Tim and Paul went over the braking system in detail. Their conclusion, the new master cylinder fitted by another garage was the likely cause. After further discussion they replaced the item and the brakes are spot on. Their diagnostics and attention to detail are second to none. They take the time to understand the problem, confirm symptoms and then do just the work needed. The moral of the story, go to the Phirm first and pay a fair price once for the right job. I would recommend them without hesitation. Oh and great VW banter along the way....
