About

Widowed mum of 3, Deborah Merx, founded the business in 2010 after experiencing a really unprofessional House Clearance herself.

She believed that there had to be a better, more caring and far more professional way to deal with what can often be a very emotional experience.

In 2015 Deborah’s son Alex Merx took over the day to day running of the company although Deborah is still involved in the marketing, accounts and quality compliance side of the business.

1000+ house and flat clearances later and the company are still very much a family concern who truly believe that the customer comes first.

Cleared my late father's house. Very professional given the sensitivity of the job. The clearance took six to seven hours on an extremely hot day. All three men worked extremely hard. Very clean and left the house in good order. Would highly recommend.

When my mother went into a Nursing Home I found Deborah's House Clearance on the internet. I contacted the Company and arranged to meet Alex at the Bungalow. He inspected the Bungalow and Garage, took photographs, gave me a quote, and we agreed a date. The country then went into Lockdown and the matter had to be potsponed. As soon as the Company was allowed to resume business, Alex contacted me and we arranged another date. The house clearance was carried out efficiently, with photographs of every room and the garage being sent to me showing the outcome of their work. At all stages the Company acted with great professionalism, and Alex could not have been more helpful or courteous in our dealings together. I am a very satisfied customer, and have no hesitation in recommending Deborah's House Clearance to anyone.

Phoned Deborah’s House Clearance with regard to clearing my deceased father in laws first floor 2 bedroom flat. Spoke to Alex who arranged to come and give us a quote for the job. He arrived on time, took photos and promised to email quote. Quote arrived as promised advising price and payment details. I emailed back suggesting two dates that would suit us. Alex and co-worker arrived on the day agreed. Alex ran through what was to be done and we left them to it. We returned later to find everything cleared including large plants from the terrace. All carpets hoovered and clean. I cannot speak highly enough of these 2 guys who must have worked so hard to get it all done in the time it took. They certainly made what could have been a very stressful time absolutely stress free. Would definitely call them again if needed.

Very efficient, fast and great customer service! We were very pleased with the service we received - the guys couldn’t have been more helpful! Quite unlike the team we got to move the remainder of my belongings the following day - they did nothing but moan, didn’t take everything required and left 20 minutes early! Given the opportunity again I would have asked Deborah’s to do all of the move!

I communicated with Alex via phone a few times, as I was residing in the North East, undergoing cancer treatment. I needed my one bedroom flat cleared out within a small window of time in Salisbury. He was polite and could not do enough to help. I had to change dates and could only email a basic item list. Received a swift estimate, which was accurate. Again nothing was too much trouble. On the day, carried out the task in a very quick and courteous manner. Very reasonable and friendly. Highly recommend!

Three guys showed up early and were ready to go, and they cleared a large three-bedroom bungalow and double garage. After they removed everything, even clearing out all the kitchen cupboards. They swept the garage hoovered the property leaving it looking perfect for the new owners to be able to move straight into. I would recommend them.

We have recently had cause to use this service following a bereavement. From the beginning when I made contact, communication has been precise and comprehensive. Due to circumstances, we needed to move quickly, Alex went the extra mile to oblige. The costs were exceptionally good especially with the volume of work that was done on our behalf. The team worked extremely hard on the day and were polite and attentive to our specific requirements. When the job was complete, the property was left clean and tidy even with the vacuum being used.
