UK Leak Detection is a specialist leak detection company dedicated to finding leaks in all kinds of properties and making sure our customers problems are resolved.

We use cutting edge technology to locate water leaks without the needs for destructive investigation and provide a full photographic report, normally on the day from site directly.

Unlike all of our competitors, we put our money quite literally where our mouth is and offer most of our customers a 'No find No fee' service for many of our leak detection surveys.

We are also able to move your water leak through an insurance claim as appropriate to restore your home from any damage caused by the water leak or from accessing the leak.

We are also able to offer deferred payments, if carried out as part of an insurance claim, where we are able to engage one of our recommended management companies on your behalf.

If suitably insured, this saves having considerable sums of money being tied up and waiting for an eventual refund from insurers.

We called out UK Leak Detection because another company had been unable to find the source of a leak indicated by our boiler, and UK Leak Detection had more sophisticated equipment. They came and were friendly and very considerate, explaining how the equipment worked, answering all our questions and explaining each stage of his investigations as he went along. He worked painstakingly for several hours, thoroughly checking each room in the house with thermal imaging equipment and then using tracer gas detection, cautiously increasing the pressure of the gas. His thoroughness was rewarded when he eventually discovered the leak's source. Before he left he shared his report with us and took time to answer all our questions. We were very impressed with his work and very pleased with the outcome. The next day at our request his company arranged for him to explain the details of his findings to our boiler maintenance company so that they fully understood the situation. We were very impressed with the company.

Tricky leak problem

Arrived on time listened to the issues of loss of boiler pressure and need to identify the possible leak. Carried out moisture tests and then carefully drained down radiators and carried out 2 bar gas test and no leaks found. Test in damp area of wall identified groundwater. So this gave me conclusive proof that the problem was with the boiler. Very clear professional report left with me

The engineer arrived right on time at 8am. My main concern was the water meter running even when all outlets were shut and monitored. He spent long time and intensive efforts to locate the source of this water loss.Eventually, one leak inside the house and one outside, near the garage were detected. The precision and accuracy of the detectors is amazing. The final report is of great value and can be used for insurance purposes and for remedial work. I feel very reassured and have already recommended the company to my family members. My appreciation to the engineer for his dedication and approach to his work. Thank you

This was a really helpful and thorough survey undertaken by Dan from UK Leak Detection with a difficult to trace leak under the floorboards in our house. We subsequently found the leak on intrusive access (and the reason why it was so hard to find), which was within the area identified by the survey and it has now been successfully repaired. We had all the methods used to trace the leak explained fully and the strengths and limitations of each approach. Dan was determined to find the leak and worked tirelessly until the early evening. We think that he went above and beyond to help us. Great service.

I highly recommend this company - the service is very well organised and very professional. Our leak detective Dan Bartlett was excellent - he was very dedicated and focused on finding the source of a tricky leak in our block of flats. Also very diplomatic with some difficult neighbours! He left no stone unturned and used lots of fancy tests and equipment to pinpoint the issues which had previously eluded several general plumbers. Most importantly he was more than happy to answer all my questions and explore concerns about how best to remedy the problems, so as to minimise the risk of damage to the building. I would definitely use this company (and especially Dan) again.

Amazingly accurate for a complicated problem

I cannot recommend them highly enough. We had what turned out to be a serious leak in our mains supply that strangely showed up first in a hallway. After the advice of two plumbers (who had no idea where the leak was), the water board and our insurers we decided to take the plunge and get a leak detection company in. As it's a considered cost at nearly £500 I was sceptical at first but I was so wrong! Dan, the gentleman who attended explained every process in detail and was extremely thorough. He arrived at about 8.30 am and didn't leave until he was totally satisfied he had located the leak which was around 5 pm! He had calculated that we were losing approximately 500 litres of water an hour. UK Leak very kindly left us some dryers to mitigate as much damp as possible. We were able to get a plumbing company to do the work on the following Monday and sure enough, the leak was found where Dan had specified. Using a Leak detection company will save you a lot of wasted time and money looking in the wrong places all the while destroying walls and floors that won't necessarily be covered by your insurance policy. If you don't know where your leak is then to use UK Leak Detection, they are brilliant.

UK Leak Detection- Jim, Charlie and Andrew, visited on three occasions respectively. Jim to locate the leak with the scanning equipment, Charlie to literally find and temporarily fix the failed hot water pipe in question, and Andrew to collect the dehumidifiers. All were great, the organisation and communication was good, as was the Covid measures. And their reports were simple to understand but comprehensive, with photos to ensure further clarity. Also very helpful in explaining what was happening, and Jim always answered messages quickly and really helpfully. Wasn’t the best news to have a burst hot water pipe just before a National Lockdown but the guys made the whole situation less stressful. Thanks to all concerned.

UK Leak Detection did not give either good value for money or service. They seem to have fancy equipment which is supposed to detected a leak. It was patently obvious that there was a leak in our flat as the carpet in the hall and an area under the kitchen vinyl was wet. They indicated to us an area of about 4 Square metres that the leak could be in which we could already see. They charged us £474 for something that was blatantly obvious. They then asked us for another £474 to excavate to find the leak and fix it temporarily without telling us whether that included reinstatement. They also did not reply to our email questions about the service. I wish I had got my plumber in in the first place which would have been cheaper.

I’m sorry you feel you did not receive good service from us, however, there were a number of health and safety challenges that prevented works from being carried out. We have a duty of care to both our staff and in this case the tenants of the property; the issue being the suspected asbestos contamination that needs to either have tested this ourselves or receive a formal test certification that this was not contaminated. While the leak was obvious, accessing it would have placed staff and the tenants at serious risk, we would have been breaking the law to continue. The leak being present was in fact keeping these fibres from being airborne and therefore to access and fix the leak would have precipitated an enormous risk of contamination that is often fatal. We are IICR and B-Sure accredited to determine asbestos and mould risk, so this was not an off the cuff assessment. We did communicate with every email, but could not move this forward without confirmation of contamination. This is turn would play a huge role in the cost of restoration works, since asbestos removal costs are significant, therefore we could not confirm any costs for you. I’m am sorry you did not accept our professional assessment and felt the need to leave this review, I feel we were acting both professionally and within the law.

Jim arrived at the scheduled time and immediately started searching for the leak which had been dripping slowly through the hallway ceiling. He soon established it was a cold water leak and not from the central heating system. He then investigated the upstairs bathroom above the hallway and found a small leak in a pipe connecting to a tap on a basin.He switched it off awaiting repair.I received a comprehensive report and he has arranged for a claims handling company to contact me.Jim was very efficient and helpful and I am very pleased with the result. Would absolutely recommend.
