Wickes durability ratings

As well as asking our readers to rate their wardrobe for durability, we also asked them to report whether it showed any sign of damage or wear and tear.

Across the brands, an average of 18% of buyers reported that they've experienced problems with their doors, and 17% reported that their furniture has required repairs.

Wickes delivery and installation service rating

Moving on from the quality of the furniture itself, we also asked customers to tell us about their experience with their furniture delivery and installation services.

Unfortunately, we didn't hear from enough Wickes customers to provide information about these services.

We were able to calculate the experience of the average buyer – displayed here – and you can see how all of other brands performed on our best fitted bedroom furniture brands page.

Wickes built-in wardrobes

Wickes' wide selection of sliding wardrobes includes both contemporary and Shaker-style furniture. It doesn't offer modular wardrobes, unlike its rival Ikea.

All Wickes sliding doors are from specialist wardrobe door company SpacePro, which also supplies Argos, B&Q and Homebase. That's why you're likely to see a lot of crossover between the companies.

Many of its doors come in standard sizes, but if you need adjustments to help fit your space, it also sells accessories to fill gaps at the top, sides or even around awkward angles, such as those caused by a sloping ceiling.

You can also have your furniture made to measure, although there are some limitations. If you're not fitting your wardrobe into a space between two walls, you can also buy end panels to create a built-in space.

Does Wickes offer a fitted furniture design service?

No. Many of Wickes sliding doors are available to buy online, but you need to do the design yourself.

If you want made-to-measure doors, you'll need to fill in a form with your requirements and these will be checked by Wickes staff.

You can use the buying guide on the website Wickes has created in partnership with SpacePro.

Can you install your own Wickes fitted furniture?

Yes, you can. Wickes has several installation videos that show you how to install your sliding wardrobe doors.

Wickes guarantees

Wickes offers a one-year guarantee on its modular storage and a two-year guarantee on its doors.

This isn't as impressive as the majority of other fitted wardrobe companies, which offer 10-year guarantees on their products.

However, it does offer a two-year workmanship guarantee for its installation service, which is more generous than most other brands.
