The week after we received our endorsement we started getting leads through from customers who had seen us on the Which? Website. The customers we were getting were completely in alignment with our values and were looking for a high-quality service and not just the cheapest price they could find.

We are a small and growing business in development but are part of something much bigger by utilising our endorsement.

The process was very in-depth and focused on business processes, such as our terms and conditions, and how we portray ourselves online, including the wording on our website. We really benefitted from speaking with the trading standards professional and we learnt a lot - We like the social media presence that Which? Trusted Traders have and how they give us opportunities for further exposure such as through blog articles.

As our trade is poised with ‘cow boys’ and fly tippers we believe one of the most important traits is the trust, and the Which? Badge adds to this. What makes it different is its national image and reputation that is trusted by many, and we do believe it greatly increases the confidence our customers will have in us. 

Becoming a Which? Trusted Trader was mainly about getting the recognition we thought we deserved. There are a lot of businesses in our sector that cut corners, use poor quality products and don’t provide the right level of training for staff. We really pride ourselves on not doing any of those things, so naturally we wanted to shout about it! As consumers ourselves, we were already aware of the Which? Trusted Traders logo being seen as a sign of reputation and trust, and because of that, the scheme felt like a perfect fit for us. We get to prove we’re able to pass the stringent assessment process, and in turn, potential customers know they can rely on us. The Which? Trusted Traders assessment process was extremely rigorous, and that in itself sets it apart from other schemes. Our business and admin procedures were evaluated thoroughly by trading standards professionals, as was the financial health of our company via a credit report. The endorsement team also contacted a selection of our recent customers to obtain references and then popped over to our showroom for a face-to-face visit and interview. This enabled them to fully understand how we operate and get a feel for who we are. Once we passed all the checks and officially joined as members, it was made clear to us that we’d be reassessed on an ongoing basis to ensure our standards aren’t slipping. Above all, being a Which? Trusted Trader provides our customers with complete peace of mind that they’re working with an organisation that operates with honesty and integrity. In addition, our Which? Trusted Traders profile gives us a hub to outline what we do, showcase some of our work and invite people to leave us independent reviews. These are moderated before they’re published, so anyone looking through our feedback knows it’s been left by genuine customers of ours. As a customer orientated business, the assessment to become a Which? Trusted Trader was not a problem. The Which? brand is a more respected name within our target age demographic, and the fact our Profile Page shows that we give good customer service, gives new customers the confidence to place orders with us.

Whilst twelve months of proudly sporting our Which? Approval accreditation have passed us by, the benefits of the award certainly haven’t.
Gaining a Which? accreditation is by no means an easy feat. It was a testament to the dedication and talent of our team and as we approach our one-year anniversary, it continues to be just that. Being endorsed by Which? is a perpetual achievement in that the high standards delivered to achieve it in the first instance, rightfully have to be maintained.
