To mark one year since Which? Trusted Traders began working with household removals organisation Move Assured, members can now get a 50% discount for the first six months to become a Which? Trusted Trader. 

To give a bit of insight on what it’s like to be part of our endorsement scheme, we caught up with Richard from Move On Removals And Storage Ltd, a Move Assured member and Which? Trusted Trader, to hear about why the company joined the scheme in 2020, and how the business has benefited from the endorsement. 

 

Why did you decide to sign up to Which? Trusted Traders?

We carried out a move for the MD of Which? Trusted Traders and were providing assistance to a very good removals company from Northern Ireland, who were loading up in Bristol.  

I asked Raj what he did, and he said he worked for Which? Trusted Traders and told me all about it.  I told him about our business, too, and we both thought  we would benefit from being Which? endorsed, and so he said that he would put me in touch with his team.  Following this, I had a great introductory call from Luke who talked me through the whole process of endorsement and the benefits of being a Which? Trusted Trader.

I had heard about the scheme through our trade association Move Assured, which had also said great things about the organisation, and were in the process of forming a strategic partnership as their values, vision and mission are very much in alignment with the Which? Trusted Traders Scheme. 

Being Move Assured members has been great for us as the level of support we have had to develop the standards and professionalism of our business has been amazing.  

How did you find the Which? Trusted Trader Assessment?

Which? Trusted Traders has a very stringent assessment process, but we felt extremely well supported from start to finish.  We were 100% focused on doing everything necessary to pass through the assessment process successfully, and if there was anything we weren't sure about or didn't know how to do, then there was always someone there to help.

The Which? Trusted Traders team are experts in consumer law and contracts. They went through all of our terms and conditions, and all forms of customer communications, with a fine-tooth comb to make sure  our procedures and systems were in-line with British trading standards.  

We now feel confident that we are operating a legitimate business and doing everything we can to promote high standards and deliver an exceptional service.

Martin, from Which? Trusted Traders, who’s been dealing with our assessment, has a wealth of knowledge in all matters relating to trading standards including how to support customers throughout their customer journey when using our service. He looked at our website, contract terms and conditions, and company addresses, and made sure all the information was in the right places for us to operate a successful business.  
 

How has your business benefited?

In the first week of being a Which? Trusted Trader we had eight leads come through from prospective customers who had seen us on the Which? Trusted Trader website -  and the leads have continued to come through ever since.  

We have a high conversion rate on the leads we get through the scheme, and the customers are looking for a company they can trust to do a good job, rather than just looking for the cheapest price.

The endorsement also gives our customers complete confidence to go ahead and buy from our company, as they know they have the backing of the UK's consumer champion.  

The Which? Trusted Traders team are there to support consumers, but they are also there to help businesses both large and small to achieve high results and to level the playing field between us smaller companies and the multinationals.

While Move Assured is industry specific, Which? Trusted Traders offers support that could be applied to any type of business . So, while Move Assured has helped us develop our delivery of quality in removals, Which? Trusted Traders has helped us develop skills and knowledge as business owners,  and the two complement each other very well.
