Had a problem with our boiler that kept showing fault codes and not firing up. Left a message with 1st Call Gas and someone got back to me very quickly. They had someone out the next working day. The solution to the problem was not obvious but they kept us informed all the way through. Seemed very knowledgeable - would not hesitate to recommend, indeed we will be keeping their number if we need further work in the future. Excellent organisation as far as I am concerned.

Second Year Service.
Having installed my boiler two years ago 1st Call have always kept in touch and sent reminders for the yearly services. This was the second year service and booking the time slot was very easy. The engineer (Russ) turned up on time and was very friendly in his whole outlook and spent time talking over what it was he was actually doing. A very good service from 1st Call from initial installation to current day.

A Perfect Job
Engineer from 1st Call Gas Services dug out the old soakaway aggregate from around the external condensate pipe, because the original installers had used inadequate-sized stones which combined with the surrounding soil had set hard like concrete, thus impeding the flow of water which was going back into the boiler and shutting it down. A paving stone was removed to access the condensate pipe. The personable engineer worked expertly and diligently to rectify this, replacing all the aggregate stones with larger ones - showing me what he was doing as the job progressed. When finished he replaced the paving stone exactly as it was before and brushed the area until it was spotless.

A boiler service was due, which revealed a broken part. The plumber took the trouble to check whether I was still in warranty, which I was, and carried out the work efficiently and quickly, along with the service to the agreed budget. The plumber was very pleasant, and kept me informed about the actions he was taking. The ensuing paperwork and certificate were delivered promptly. I felt confident enough to use them again,and recommend them.

Smart and Friendly Heating Engineer
First of all, I was sent a reminder when the boiler needed to be serviced. When I rang to book the boiler service the lady I spoke to was friendly and helpful. It’s useful to be given an a.m. or p.m. appointment so that you don’t have to wait in all day. The engineer rang to let me know when he would be arriving. He was smart, friendly and answered questions I had about the job and the water pressure. He carried out his work quickly, quietly and efficiently. He left the site clean and tidy. I also received the boiler service record the following day which was great.

I called on Tuesday and the repair to my boiler was completed on Wednesday morning. Engineer rang to let me know he was on his way, was polite and friendly when he arrived. Put on shoe covers before he entered the house and told me exactly what he had done before he left. I now have hot water again. Thanks for the super efficient service.

1st Call are 1st class!
I have been a customer of 1st Call for over 15 years and from the start they have always provided a quality service at reasonable prices. I have seen the company develop and grow and become the deserved success it is today. They are good communicators, turn up on time and get the job done without delay. The most recent call was a routine service on our old boiler but it took a lot longer as there were problems. The engineer stayed late until the job was done. It transpired that there are repairs needed, or a new boiler and 1st Call had another of their associates come out next day, free of charge to quote for the repairs or replacement. We are now having a new boiler fitted next week and are very happy with the prompt service.

The engineer arrived on time and was very helpful in explaining how our new boiler (10 months old) worked and how to top the water in the boiler after bleeding radiator valves. He explained a job I need to do and the reasons why the work needed to be done. Very thorough and look forward to next years service.

Professional as Ever
Sorry about my previous review, I hadn’t appreciated it was for 1st Call and not Cadent. As ever 1st Call is who I turn to with this kind of problem. Called them out right on office closing time and despite being extremely busy and “fully booked” they were able to send out Kyle first thing the next day. Kyle was professional, cool headed and resourceful and “cracked” the problem straight away. First class job by a first class engineer.

Excellent boiler service
I have used First Call since 2018 for the annual service of my gas boiler, I have been reassured by their excellent service and reasonable costs. Setting up the appointments at a time convenient for me was easy by phone or text, efficient office staff, confirmation by email. The gas engineers were always punctual, efficient, knowledgeable, polite. What I really appreciate is that the engineer explains to me what they're doing, how things work, what problems might be; they are good communicators willing to answer questions. A reminder for when the service is due is sent, but no annoying badgering. I am 100 % satisfied with First Call and will definitely continue to use them for service and repairs. (I do not usually complete satisfaction surveys, but this company deserves it.)

I’ve used 1st Call Gas Services since they renewed my Ideal boiler and once again their service matches their name “1st” class. Their engineer was on time and explained what he was doing and the outcome of the service. Fault on boiler and annual service
Excellent customer service, when I telephoned to explain that the pressure had gone, they managed to fit me in the next day. The engineer got the boiler back to pressure but new parts were needed, all this was explained and an appointment made for the following week as the parts had to be ordered. The engineer turned up at the allotted time on both occasions, telephoning beforehand to make let me know where he was and how long he was going to be. He explained what he needed to do to get the boiler fixed (and to complete my annual service), in language I could understand! The office then telephoned to confirm the price and that I wanted the work doing by them, they then made an appointment. It was all very easy and efficient and the staff were all helpful and clear in everything they did.
