Car went in for MOT which could have failed as no water in windscreen washer container but they topped it up for me so it was able to pass. Always be pleased with their service and also used by other family members.

Booked my car in for its annual service with 1st Stop happy to accommodate my choice of date. As usual, only necessary work was undertaken. I thought the brake fluid might need to be replaced being nearly three years old but was advised that this would be tested to check that the work was required. The test showed that the fluid was still OK saving me unnecessary costs. Kevin from 1st Stop also phoned me to advise that the rear brake pads were significantly worn and sought my approval for replacement. This is typical of 1st Stop's approach which combined with friendly but professional service keeps me a returning customer. The whole experience is a refreshing change from other garages I've used where I've felt the main focus to be maximizing revenue. The final benefit of using 1st Stop is that it's a local business within easy walking distance of my home!

It was much appreciated that they sent me an annual reminder that my MOT was shortly due. An appointment was then made and the MOT was carried out on time. An SMS was sent to me when the test had been completed and my vehicle was ready for collection. Service was with a smile and I left feeling that my custom was valued.

I found this trader to be very helpful. On the odd times, I have had called on his services other than for service. For the service and MOT, he arranged for collection and return of our vehicle, my wife and I both being over 80. I have used this trader for several years and would not hesitate to recommend them. I have never had the occasion to question his work or cost.

Having been let down by a main dealer over my car's first MOT test (they cancelled the test with less than 24 hours notice) I called at 1st Stop Cars Ltd in Rochford and explained that without an MOT test I would be unable to renew my Road Fund License. I found myself with a starting problem at a time when I had to depend on my vehicle for emergencies and was delighted to find (a) First Stop Cars open when many garages were not and (b) an early repair slot available. A swift diagnosis of the problem the very next day with work needed and the cost promptly communicated to me meant that the glow plugs and fuel filter were all replaced whilst I found something else to do locally and this morning the car started on the button for the first time in months. I'm enormously grateful for an extremely helpful service that has restored my peace of mind.

I found this garage via Trusted Garages and noticed they are also a Which? member. I was sick of being fobbed off because I don’t know much about cars so needed a garage I could trust. The quote I received for a new cambelt was very competitive - several garages had quoted me double the price!! Kevin was fantastic and also did some additional free of charge checks for me for some other work. He put my mind at rest, fully explaining any suggested work, giving honest recommendations and clear quotes with breakdowns. The communication and customer service was exceptional throughout. I will certainly be using this garage in future and would recommend.

Replacement n/s mirror. As usual, part was ordered straight away once I was made aware of the cost. Work was carried out with minimum waiting and all to my satisfaction! Wouldn’t contemplate going anywhere else as the service is always efficient and totally trustworthy! A really friendly garage!

Following a recent break down caused by my elderly father in law who had to be rescued by me. I discovered that he had forgotten to renew his breakdown cover. This was his fault as his age has begun to lead to forgetfulness and bad driving skills. I have been trying to get him to stop driving for a couple of years now without success. I consequently called upon 1st Stop Cars, Rochford, for their help. The sympathy and sensitivity with which they handled the situation was more than I could have hoped for. The car was retrieved and repaired within 48 hours. They also went above and beyond by addressing all enquiries to me rather than my father in law and, as per my instructions, did not hand the car keys to him when he attempted to retrieve the car. Because of their consideration and helpfulness an elderly, incapable driver is now off the road and no threat to other road users. The relief to myself and my family is immense as is our thanks to all at 1st Stop Cars. I, and my family have used 1st Stop for many years and have always been totally satisfied with the work completed and the helpfulness of all members of staff. I have no hesitation in fully recommending 1st Stop Cars.

Just an MoT this time but I've been using 1st Stop for a number of years for all sorts of car maintenance work on a variety of vehicles and have found them to be consistently welcoming, professional and skilled in their business. It's always good to see familiar faces knowing that they did a good job last time. It's also good to support the smaller, local businesses.

Had to have my daughters mini cooper towed to the garage last night as her power steering went, had already spoken with the garage prior to see if this was possible if rescue couldn't fix it as it would be out of hours. It was no problem at all. Had a call from the garage this morning once they had checked it over. It was a potential 2 fault problem, alternator, power steering pump or both, they advised on the cheaper fault first and what do you know, after some additional resetting of some codes car is now fixed. Only started using 1st stop a year ago and I can happily say will not go anywhere else. A refreshing no nonsense, reasonably priced, honest garage. Have used them for MOT, servicing and repairs and can highly recommend them.
