1st Stop Cars Ltd was first opened in 1990 by family members Kevin White and Roger Goodwin. Set up to provide a first class vehicle repair service backed by honesty and integrity, aiming to keep its customers cars on the road without unnecessary costs while providing reliable information.
Based in West St Rochford providing MOT testing and fast fit services on most makes and models. Including servicing, clutch replacement, brake repairs, exhaust and tyre fitting.
With a team of technician’s that has a vast knowledge and experience in general and complex repairs.

Phoned to book a waiting MOT appointment for my motorcycle and was pleased to be told that the work could be done later that day. The test commenced within a couple of minutes of my arrival and was completed within approximately half an hour. All went well with the test apart from an incorrectly aligned headlamp which was adjusted free of charge. I was also given the opportunity to speak to the tester after completion of the test and asked him to appraise the condition of the bike's drive chain and sprocket. Rather than just give the chain a cursory glance, he took the trouble to put the bike on its centre stand and conducted a thorough inspection. He concluded that the components still had plenty of life in them, putting my mind at rest. Overall, I was very impressed with the friendly and professional service I received and would not hesitate to recommend this trader

Just had my MOT done after getting text reminder, very useful. After moving to the area 2 years ago needed to find a new garage. So glad we found 1st Stop. We take 3 cars here for MOT /Service/ mechanical problems. Always polite, helpful, knowledgeable and keep you informed . Helped my daughter with her first car and the numerous worries that came with it. Talked to her in a way she could relate to and not patronising. They always check before starting on any work and estimates given are normally spot on. Would recommend to anyone who wants to be treated with respect and honesty.

Annual MOT and service today carried out with the usual courtesy and efficiency. I, and my family have been using First Stop for some years now. It is wonderful to have such a good garage nearby. On many occasions I have had to phone up about an unusual noise or something else not quite right with the car. Yet again great service from 1st Stop Cars. I received the invoice as quoted without any extras. Rather than just replacing parts for the sake of it, they actually let you know if there is 6 months left on brake pads for instance so you can make a choice whether to leave it for now.

Booked my old banger of a car in for MOT and, unsurprisingly, it failed with three different major faults. I was kept informed and given honest advice throughout. I was given a "worst case", quotation for the work but reassured that I was under no obligation to go ahead and was given time to consider my options. I decided to go ahead and was given a courtesy car so that I could get about while the work was done - this was at no extra cost and was completely hassle free. As promised, the work was completed by the close of business the following day and the final price was cheaper than quoted as they had been able to tweak a couple of things rather than replace them. Absolutely great service and highly recommended.

I was recommended 1st Stop by a friend and now understand why they have such a great reputation. I bought a BMW that needed quite a bit of work doing. 1st Stop were fantastic! Not only did they fit parts that they sourced but also those sourced by myself. At all points along the way, Kevin would advise on the options open to me before the decision was taken as to the best way forward. He was really helpful as well as his team of mechanics. I will definitely use 1st Stop again and recommend to anyone that asks me. The car now has a full MOT and is running well.

This Garage quite simply does what all car owners dream about, only the work that needs to be done and at a reasonable price.
