About
My name is Stephen and have been working in the gas industry for 18 years, 15 of these years being with British Gas, where i have received the best training available in the industry, not to mention the invaluable experience in the field.
In 2017 i decided to take the plunge and set up my own business, please find below a brief description of what we offer and what we are about.

We offer a professional, friendly, trustworthy and knowledgable service, that helps you keep you home warm, working and efficient.
We specialise in breakdowns and repairs to gas/LPG and Oil central heating boilers, central heating systems, unvented cylinders, fires, cookers, warm air units and water heaters both domestic and commercial.
In addition to this I'm able to offer an installation service of the aforementioned appliances, unvented cylinders, powerflushing, upgrades, landlord certs and all the important annual appliance service.

After locating 1ST TIME FIX as a local Which Trusted Trader, my initial enquiry with very helpful and friendly Lotty via telephone was followed by receipt of SMS and emailed confirmation of appointment with engineer Stephen Horne. Stephen sent an SMS advising he was on his way and, upon arrival, immediately placed a dust sheet and mat on the floor before commencing any work. He soon located the problem with the wall-mounted gas heater and repaired it within minutes, restoring much-needed warmth. Throughout the appointment, Stephen was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and extremely helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend 1st Time Fix for superb customer service, and will certainly contact them for any future work required. I am in no doubt that this trader is most definitely to be relied upon and thoroughly merits the highest of recommendations.

I turned to this company in desperation as the company that fitted our new boiler never came to service it, despite me contacting them numerous times. After my initial contact this company replied very quickly stating yes they could service it and we arranged an appointment. Installed my boiler and have serviced for the last two years. Great service when fitting, managed to fit me in as an emergency on a Saturday, as it was very cold in the winter with no heating. No problems whatsoever, I highly recommend!

I have used 1st time fix for a number of years because of the quality of service they offer customers, carrying out Plumbing requirements quickly and to a high standard of workmanship. On this occasion I Contacted Stephen on the morning 16.2.24 because of issues with a TRV leaking through the stem, as always Stephen quickly got back to me with an appointment for him to attend, all required work (new TRV fitted) was completed on the afternoon of the same day.

Recently had a new Worcester Bosch boiler installed. Fantastic service. Really knowledgable and helpful engineers who were able to demonstrate how the system works and nothing was too much trouble for them. They was polite and went out there way so I had little disruption and now have a new energy efficient boiler. I will be recommending this company to my friends and family

First time I’ve used 1st Time Fix and I must say I will use them again in the future. Our boiler stopped working last night, I called Stephen and this morning an engineer came (10mins earlier might I add) and sorted the issue with the boiler. The fact that Stephen sent me a text to let me know that the engineer was on the way speaks volumes of the level of customer service this company provide!! I can’t fault them!! No hidden costs! Thanks Stephen for getting us warm again!!

1st Time Fix replaced our old boiler and pipework and also fitted a new shower all on the same day. They worked extremely hard and were very helpful. They asked us to contact them in case anything went wrong. We are very pleased with the work they did.

Old En-suite bathroom taken out and complete new bathroom fitted (Flooring/Wall tiles/Shower tray/Shower cubicle/New shower/Sink/Toilet) - All fitted to an extremely high standard. Steve and Chris work in a very professional manner - Steve came up with solutions to make the install better - This is the second time we have used 1st Time Fix and I would highly recommend. Great install - fair price (Just make sure you have plenty of tea bags and they will work non stop!) 😂

Remove 2 radiators and replace them

I had some old decorating behind the radiators and needed it gone as I was redecorating this room. 1stTimeFix came and took the radiators off and waited for me to remove the old decorating and rubbish from behind them and then replaced them. I would recommend 1stTimeFix to anyone, Stephen Horne was on time, worn his mask and cleaned up the mess that I had made cleaning out the rubbish. I had 4 quotes and this was the cheapest for doing the exact same thing.

Steve fitted a new radiator. Date was agreed beforehand and he texted to say he was en route. Very neat and tidy. Water drained off with no mess and coverings put on floor to stop radiator sludge from the old radiator falling onto the carpet. The new radiator wasn't a straight swap - pipework had to be altered. Steve also put a drain in to make it easier to drain the upstairs system. Afterwards, not only were we sent an invoice but also a certificate stating what work had been done. We will definitely use 1ST Time Fix again.
