AOS Energy Efficient Heating Systems Limited

Having moved to an old house with a very old oil boiler we were delighted to be recommended AOS by friend of a friend as a solution to heating the house. Had it not been for them we would have doubted that such a system would be possible for the house, albeit we were comprehensively upgrading and renovating. From the outset, the company was courteous, and prompt and answered the many queries that arose from the planning stage to the final commissioning. They liaised with our plumber and electrician to ensure the installation was as seamless as possible. In addition, they helped overcome supply problems to ensure the system was installed so that we could take advantage of the government Renewable Heat Incentive deal that was closing at the end of March 22. So far so good, but as energy prices rise, it is a system that one needs to get to understand, with its multiple thermostats and timing options.

Everyone in AOS from start to finish were very helpful, willing to discuss and answer all my questions politely and patiently, and the process went completely to plan. The team of young guys were always punctual, polite, worked competently and knowledgeably. I was very pleasantly impressed to see such a young team doing such complicated and responsible work completely confidently. The pump is now installed and is working as it should be. I am very pleased with the whole installation process and felt I was in good hands the whole time. I had solar panels installed earlier to help with the running cost of the pump.

We have been a long term customer of AOS and always happy with their service. When our old boiler reached its end-of-life, (supplied and installed by AOS nearly 20 years ago), AOS provided a competitive quote for a replacement, offered an installation date within a few days, arrived on time, carried out a nice neat installation, tested and talked us through the new boiler operation. Engineers always very personable and ready to answer questions and listen to any concerns.

The service provided was very professional and thorough. Prior to installing a new boiler, the engineers tried very hard to mend the previous one. Sadly it wasn’t to be and the decision to replace was made. Having been without heating for several days, the company strived for a quick installation to minimise our discomfort. We had been thinking about changing from oil fired heating to an Air Source Heat Pump, and decided on using AOS following a recommendation from a neighbour and reading very positive reviews online. The whole process was so simple with AOS staff giving us advice on preparing the house, applying for the RHI grant etc. The work was carried out in 4 days and I was delighted by how efficient and clean the engineers were. Installing a heat pump is more complicated than a boiler but AOS were extremely supportive and professional through this process. All the staff I encountered had the same helpful attitude and the standard of the final work was exceptional. First time a plumber has labelled all the consumer facing switches and sockets. Great support with the associated paperwork as well. Very strongly recommend.

AOS installed an air source heat pump. Initial visits were made to ensure we understood the system and how it would work for us. A survey was done with recommendations on what alterations were needed to our existing radiators and hot water tank. No pressure was put on us to go ahead with the work with the result that we had time for reflection. Questions that we had were always answered promptly. An installation date and price were agreed and both were adhered to. The installation team arrived promptly, were knowledgeable, polite, competent and hard working. Once installed, the system was explained fully to us, with a number to phone if there was a problem. There were none and we don't expect there to be, but are confident that AOS will be there for us in that unlikely event.

We contacted AOS on 11th January this year for an initial enquiry about an air source heat pump installation at our house. I had found them on the Which Trusted Traders site and subsequently received a very positive recommendation from a friend who had a heat pump installed by them. From my initial call through to completion of the installation today, we have found the company a pleasure to deal with. Based on our EPC information the staff were able to send me an initial proposal, with some options for us to consider re-replacement of radiators and hot water tank. This document also gave us a very good idea of the whole process but was subject to a full site survey. The surveyor did a very thorough job, explained everything to us clearly and after some further discussions we were sent a firm proposal, which was again thorough and set out all the costs, payment terms and other considerations very clearly. On accepting the proposal a date was arranged for the installation as soon as possible to give us time to apply for the RHI scheme. The installation team arrived at 8am 'on the dot' and completed the complex operation over three and a half days in a highly professional manner, taking great care to protect the flooring and clean up thoroughly after each day's work. I am confident that the after sales service will be as good as our experience with AOS so far suggests, and we would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone considering a heat pump installation.
