Abacus (Homecare Pest Control) will deal with and eradicate the pests and vermin that invade your Home, Restaurant or Workplace. Trained by the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health, we are also members of the British Pest Control Association and have years of experience in dealing with pest and vermin problems that are now becoming increasingly more common. We are a family business and offer a friendly and caring service. We currently undertake work from letting agents, manage rodent control programmes on estates and have been instructed by local council to help and take on their appointments when they faced staffing problems as well as a large circle of private home owners

Ken has very expertly dealt with wasps nests at may home on a few ocasions. He is always very efficient, comes at short notice and most importantly he gets rid of the problem rapidly! He is very friendly and helpful, and totally trustworthy.He always offers to come back if the wasps do not go away, but this has never been necessary.

I had a wasps nest in my porch which Ken dealt with. Ken was able to come the same day I initially called which didn’t suit me but he was able to come on the day of my choosing. He dealt efficiently with the nest in an awkward place and there was good communication with him all around.

I called Ken on Monday regarding a problem that I was experiencing with pigeons roosting under an overhanging roof, on Tuesday he came to have a look at the problem. We agreed that the best solution was to fit spikes on the 2 surfaces causing the nuisance. On the Thursday, 2 days later! Ken called to ask if he could fit the spikes, which he did the same day and at the quoted price. I consider that exemplary service from yet another fine Which Trusted Trader.

Would avoid. Unprofessional. Paid £80 to kill a wasp nest. Didn’t work. Came back while I was away. Subsequently demanded another £170 without consultation or discussion. Spent 15 mins each time. I feel ripped off because he changed the terms of the contract without agreement.

TOTAL Lack of Understanding By Customer and Not True: I had successfuly treated the particular wasp nest but unfortunately for the client a second nest in the same vicinity became "active" a couple of days later (not uncommon). I was called to come back and treat this second nest, whilst treating this new nest I saw that there was wasp activity on another slope of the roof. I asked his son to ring his dad (the client) to see if he wanted me to deal with these other possible nests. The only way I could get to the nests was by climbing on to a neighbours roof to carry out treatment accordingly. There was actually a further 2 nests which I treated in good faith. The price I wished to invoice (not demand!) was a fair price considering the efforts and risks I went to; I offered to reduce the price (I admit I should have discussed the price before commencing the treatments) reducing it to £120 for all 3 nests. My only fault was trying to be too helpful in the client's abscence. I am a Which endorsed Trusted Trader and my reviews show my integrity and fair reasonable pricing. Just read my previous recommendations. Would also appreciate if any of my previous clients would support my reply.

Ken helped remove an ant infestation in our home. He picked up the phone before 8am and came over to put down poison by 11am. Cost: £60. He was professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.

Ken responded very quickly and sorted the problem very efficiently. As he dealt with pest infestation he also discovered a badly unblocked drain which he dealt with on the spot. He did a great job and is very knowledgable. I highly recommend him.

I warmly recommend Abacus to anyone confronted by bed bugs. Ken dealt with the situation promptly and professionally, patiently explaining what I needed to do, how the treatment would work, and coming as promised next day to fumigate: all for a very reasonable fee.

I contacted Ken after an ongoing problem with rats getting into our home. He arrived an hour after contacting him and was able to diagnose the problem in 10 minutes after years if using other pest control companies and the council. He was able to finally able to help up resolve the issue. A very pleasant man to deal with and excellent customer service. Would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Jamie, then Ken visited my property to deal with a mice issue. Bate was laid and then they both returned to see if there had been any activity. Very pleasant & helpful to deal with instructions on what bate was used left with me for my safety. More than happy to use the guys again. Thank you.

Excellent friendly service, very knowledgable and very reasonably priced. Am happy to recommend. And a successful result had a previous company that did not solve problem but still charged, thanks Abacus. Problem was rats escaping from sewer and burrowing under house, Abacus recommended Drain Catt (sister company) to seal drains, I shall be recommending Drain Catt as they were excellent as well. Have only just joined Which and I do like this referral system used Yellow Pagesfor first pest control company, neighbour found Abacus on Which for me I shall be using this a lot in the future.

Good value and a good rapport. My husband originally found the service in Yellow Pages after phoning round for costs for dealing with a rat problem, the business owner quoted what appeared to be a reasonable price (some prices seemed rediculously high) an we arranged an appointment. After surveying our house he found 2 possible places where they were entering the house and my husband said he would and did do necessary repairs. What impressed us more was his knowledge of the pest and by explaining to us everything it made us feel more at ease and I am pleased to say the problem was soon resolved at a very reasonable cost. We have just had to use him a second time on a flat that we let out for a moth infestation, again explaning to us about the moth enabled us with his treatment to get rid of the problem fairly quickly. It was him who told us of Which Local and I have just joined and am happy to recommend him.
