Ableworld what about when things go wrong. Caring when equipment is dangerous to use. Absolutely NOT. On the 29th April. I brought my Jolly Boot Mobility scooter from Ableworld, Shrewsbury. On the 22nd May I returned the scooter following many safety concerns The scooter cuts out/stops no warning and doesn’t always engage when key is turned on. This extract. from the Stairlift and Customer Relations Director at Nantwich dated 8th august states. “Your safety and confidence in our products are of the utmost importance to us. Whenever concerns are raised, we take them very seriously and conduct a thorough investigation, including rigorous testing procedures”. Very impressive words. actually the engineer took 54 minutes to inspect and write his following report Customer stated the scooter was cutting out on her, I have tested the charger that passed. Batteries passed at 110/118. I have also done a Motor draw test on a store scooter for comparison and both showed similar numbers. I could not find any issues with the scooter. The scooter is 23 days old, why would the battery be faulty. He’s stated the scooter was cutting out. No fault user error No refund

Neil sourced and replaced 2 new motors on my Jazzy Air 2. It is now as good as new, I couldn't be happier. Fast, efficient and friendly service. And a very fair price. I have found to my cost there are a lot of dodgy companies in the disability business (hello John and Carl in Hull), I'm just relieved to have found an honest, thoroughly professional company in Ableworld. Very highly recommended.

Just brought a Motability scooter from the Ableworld at Burton on Trent. Andrea and Matt couldn’t have been more helpful, they let me have a test ride and then Matt helped my husband put the scooter in the van to see if it would fit before we purchased it. Andrea was very helpful and helped fill all the paperwork in and explained all the facilities on the scooter. Couldn’t recommend them more highly as they were not at all pushy but let us take our time in our decision.

I’ve previously had a stairlift from Ableworld for my profoundly disabled son but a house move meant we needed a new one to coordinate with the timing of the move as much as possible. As soon as I was in the new house Adam and Adele understood the urgency to get my lad home. I was really touched that everyone did their utmost to get the lift installed around a tricky staircase and Adam and Simon installed it last Friday. My son isn’t able to say thank you himself but he came home on Saturday and his face said it all. He accepted it straight away despite his profound autism. Thank you to Adele who kept things moving and who ‘got it’ when few people do. I never usually leave reviews but this company have never let my son down. Thank you

Ongoing faults / breakdown with chairlift since purchase

Stairlift fitted on the 4th August 2022 because of wife’s heart failure problem. First fault reported 1st September 2022, and since then further faults reported 14th September 2022, 4th October 2022, 4th March 2023, 21st August 2024 and 18th September 2024. My wife died on the 20th March 2023 so lift not used daily since then. When engineer visited on 4th September 2024 he reported after a quick inspection no fault found except that I had already switched off the lift by key before his visit (news to me) However a few days after his visit lift not working again. Visiting engineer (Mark) on 8th September 2024 spent around two hours investigating problems (replacing main electronic board, batteries, cleaning rail etc. Advised me stairlift restored) Why couldn’t the previous engineer on the 4th September 2024 have spent more time investigating the real problems as discovered by MARK LEE, who impressed me more than other previous visiting engineers. I have payed £75 call out and £55 batteries on two occasions. Visiting family ,friends and neighbours have not been very impressed by ABLEWORLD

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback in relation to your experiences with your stairlift. All stairlifts that we install come with 1 year labour warranty and depending on the make and model of the stairlift, the manufacturing parts warranty ranges between 2-5 years. Any manufacturing faults that occur during this period are covered under the warranty free of charge. Batteries are a consumable item and therefore, if the lift has been turned for a period of time, then unfortunately, this can deplete the batteries. We are sorry to hear that on the most recent reported issue with your stairlift that it was not fully resolved on the first visit. On occasion the batteries can be recovered once the stairlift is back on charge. We do our upmost to avoid charging for batteries unnecessarily, if the batteries do not recover and a return visit is required within a few days, we will only charge for the batteries and not the repeated call out. We recommend to all of our customers that they have their stairlift serviced annually to keep their stairlift in the best work condition. We do appreciate your feedback as we are always working towards improving the service we provide and to reduce the number of callouts for our customers. Take care, Ableworld

Delightful engineer/fitter, Mark Lee. Knowledgeable, efficient, tidy, great communicator. Arrived within stated time frame, explained everything that he was doing. When he needed a replacement part he went away then returned with said part. Demonstrated how to use the stairlift, showed me the safety features and what to do if and when. Very happy with the service, and with the instalment. I highly recommend this company.

This is the first time I have felt it necessary to research what aids might improve my ability to get out and about since my medical condition has deteriorated. Initially my wife and I used Which to research the best lightweight mobility scooters and armed with this information we visited Ableworld’s local branch in Christchurch. Both David and Eddie were most helpful without applying pressure tactics advised what would best suit my needs and insisted I try the scooter and explained all the features and safety measures to ensure I was happy to proceed with purchasing the scooter and in addition a lightweight wheelchair. Ableworld were first class from first enquiry to fitting. Visit to my home om time and very thorough information and pricing structure. No pressure just full information, all questions answered. After considering price timing etc decided to go ahead with the fitting of a Stairlift. Date and time agreed for fitting and times and fitting done as agreed. Very thorough instructions for use of lift and also very very cean job done. So far no problems with use of stairlift, veery pleased.

The engineer Lee called to assess the job and arrived on time. He gave impartial advice with all options explained including cost. The job was awarded and a time given which was very quick. Lee actioned the job efficiently and effectively. He explained how to use the stairlift and how the warranty worked. The stairlift appears to be high quality and fairly priced. Excellent service all round.
