We were contacted 2 days before our patio doors were to be fitted and told the supplier had not provided them. This led to a further 3 week delay. The fitters arrived late in the morning on the day and when we phoned, we were told they had “overslept”. Trims were not fitted and we were told they would call back when the supplier had provided them. We phoned a couple of weeks later, having heard nothing and a date for a fitter to call was arranged. The fitter did not have the trims when he came but made adjustments and fitted a number of screws that had been omitted. A further date was arranged for the trims to be fitted but the fitters did not arrive on the day, despite me phoning the office late in the afternoon and being assured they would come. They phoned the next day saying they had been delayed and were coming that day. I asked the fitters to tell someone from the office to contact me as I was unhappy with the service. The next I heard was a phone call asking for payment, some 3 weeks later. We used this firm because they are local and we believed we would get a good service. We would not use them again and would not recommend them.

Disgusting communication and customer service from Acorn Windows, would not use this company again for any further work.I recently put an order in for the replacement of a patio door and kitchen window as part of a significant home improvement project. The project went very well, the replacement window and door from Acorn Windows were fraught with disaster. And problems of which I had to chase continuously With phone calls and taking time off work to wait in for. Even after complaining to James Hibbert and sending photos of his teams work there was no offer of an apology ! When we were researching the company a letter of commendation was found which was dated 29th February 2017, however it was written 30th March 2016! . It seems communication may be an issue.

Following a competitive quote from James, we were visited by David who surveyed our requirements and then by Jason and Craig who installed new front and back doors. Despite a small hiccup when our order was lost and then we had to chase the surveyor, all other interactions with Acorn have been good. This is the only reason I’ve given them 4/5 for ‘customer service’. If I was rating the actual surveyor who did the work and the fitters themselves, they would have received 5/5. The work carried out by two fitters, in particular, was first class. They were courteous, tidy and friendly. They turned up on time and just got on with the work required without any fuss. We’ve used Acorn now to have a conservatory built, new windows and now new doors. We would definitely recommend them as a reliable, competitive and trustworthy company.

Great fitters on both occasions as the work was split into two jobs. I was clearly informed that this would be the case by Acorn. All work went exactly to plan, on time and with no issues. The fitters worked hard and did a great job. Would definitely recommend the business based on my experiences. Thank you.

We asked Acorn to replace most of our old windows and two doors. Their quotation was almost identical to another quotation, so I am satisfied that the price was fair. From initial contact to the completion of the job, all their staff were polite, helpful and considerate. Acorn kept to its deadlines; a couple of small issues arose during the process but these were resolved very quickly and, in the end, the job was completed in accordance with the original timetable. We paid a bit more for strengthened low-emission glass and can only say that we are delighted with the result: the units look very smart, the fitters were efficient and clean - everything was properly tidied up - and the glass clearly does perform well for both temperature control and noise-reduction. It is early days (only a week or two since they finished) but, as things stand, we would happily use Acorn again.
