I contacted Alan to replace a boiler in one of our managed properties he was able to come the same day to look at it and start work two days later the job was completed quickly and efficiently and Alan went over an above with the work on the property. He was extremely professional, friendly and very clear and thorough explaining all issues and I would definitely use him again. Highly recommend

Alan went above and beyond in helping me get the correct heating system. After picking Alan from a few other engineers he came on the day that was agreed He installed a new Worcester combi boiler along with 4 new radiators. He recommended a towel rail which I'm very happy with as it uplifts the bathroom. Alan helped fixing the issue with my boiler kept dropping pressure. He started with diagnosing the issue and ruling out external factors. Then he explained everything in detail followed by useful suggestions. He then applied the fix, now it’s hassle free. I would highly recommend Alan as your gas engineer to go.

My central heating had stopped working. I found Alan via Chat GPT, having asked for the names of plumbers with the best reputations in West London. He was the first on the list it generated. He came when he said he would, was very personable and identified and fixed the issue (including having to go to buy the new part required) quickly. He also fixed a couple of radiators that weren't heating as they should without charging any me anything extra for doing so, even though he had to use a new valve on one of them. His good reputation is fully justified and I will now automatically default to using him in future should the need arise.

I wanted the old electrical heating element in my hot water tank replaced. Alan warned me that, because of the age of the tank, there could be problems in removing the old element. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead. Although removal and replacement of the heating elements was not straightforward, with perseverance and skill, the job was successfully completed within the agreed price range.

What I like about Alan is he is honest and unlike other quotes we had for a new boiler, advised us that we didn't need to replace it as it was a simple repair. Thus us the second time we've used him and both times he has been, friendly with helpful advice about other plumbing issues we've asked about. Alan also gets back to us with an appointment and keeps to it and let us know when he was about to arrive, all of which is very much appreciated.

After unsatisfactory service, lack of communication from my previous heating engineer, and £500 poorer on various 'small' repairs over the past 18 months, I found Alan on Which? I called him Tuesday evening, he came round Wednesday morning to review the situation, advised new boiler (old one being 10 plus years old), new flue and thermostat required, gave a very competitive quote and had the new boiler installed by Friday morning. He explained everything in layman's terms, so I felt confident with what he was doing. His work was very neat and he left the work area spotless afterwards. I was so impressed. Thank you Alan!

I found Alan mack online and asked him to come and have a look at my pressure in my cold water throughout my house. There has been several other plumbers to try to fix this and have spent considerable amount of money to rectify. Alan knew pretty my straight away what the problem could be and explained it in a easy way to understand and withing 2 hrs my water was running perfectly. His cost was a fraction of what I have paid in the past. I have had this problem for yrs and started to give up until Alan came round. Alan has undertaken reairs to my boiler in the past, and I contacted him when the water connection to my plumbed fridge /freezer was leaking. He arrived with the necessary part and speedily sorted out the problem.

Alan installed my boiler a few weeks ago and I am extremely pleased with his level of professionalism. The installation came about as a result of my boiler breaking down during the lockdown period. Alan was very understanding and respectful with regards to the social distancing, but still carried out his chores deligently. Alan was able to attend to the task promptly. He arrived punctually and addressed me politely and courteously. He checked the boiler and found it to be in good condition and informed me of any signs that would indicate a need for any investigation at any point in the future. He also checked the radiators and the heating system and discovered an airlock.Alan found and resolved the cause of the airlock. He also checked all the gas pipework. Alan explained all that he did and recommended appropriate settings for the valves. The work was completed according to the agreed schedule and budget In resolving the air lock Alan found that specified valves were faulty. On the completion of his inspection,we discussed the heating system and Alan provided details and costs of the valve replacements and costs of replacing radiators, as discussed. I was particularly impressed by Alan's attention to detail and determination to provide high and quality standards in his work.

We needed a new boiler and I contacted several suppliers, including asking for local recommended engineers and reading the Which? reports. I contacted Alan as he was recommended on Which? and he was very helpful, explaining everything clearly and patiently. He was very busy, but he fitted us into his schedule, came to check out the system and was able to give us a quote immediately, and confirmed by text. When the work was done, it was efficient and everything was cleaned up afterwards and he did not charge for checking out another problem which he investigated for us. Appointments were kept punctually and he called if delayed. Subsequently, we have had a leak in a joint connecting to the original pipes which he responded to and fixed very quickly, suggesting a long term solution. His prices were competitive, I valued his comments and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

I called Alan at a time of great vulnerability, during the pandemic in 2020. My wife is severely disabled, and we were shielding both her and her elderly mother. After a number of attempts to resolve our heating issues - even by a large, well known British supplier - our heating was still not working effectively. Our radiators were also beginning to pinhole, and there were other odd issues that no one would come out for. We had just said goodbye to a plumber who had hospitalised himself by not wearing appropriate safety gear. Then along came Alan Mack. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful to the point of explaining everything I didn't understand, in terms I could. He took a single day to resolve every plumbing issue we had, route our pipes properly, replace 7 radiators, and convert our gravity-fed system to pressurised. To my shame, it has taken me more than a year to get around to leaving this review. We have never had to call him back, but we would not hesitate to call him again, or to recommend his services to anyone.
