Cleaning a ‘short cycling’ boiler

APG called out promptly to initially look and possible repair the problem with my boiler. After a second call-out (the next day) the diagnosis was a power flush of the boiler circuit would resolve the problem. The was system was cleaned out (6 hours with a power flush) on the scheduled date and now works fine. My system is linked to a wood burning boiler and the heating companies I called, did not want to know but for APG it was no problem! Highly recommend this company!

This was our first time using APG. Our boiler faulted during the night, leaving us without heating or hot water. We were under some pressure to get a fix/ replacement as quickly as possible due to having a 1 week old baby in the house and it still being winter. We rang APG when they opened and within a couple of hours we had an engineer at the house. They replaced the pressure valve and the heat exchanger, getting us back up and running the same day. The engineers were very efficient, tidy and talked us through the problems, showing us the parts which had failed. The communications through the office team were faultless, keeping us up to date with the engineer's ETA and sending through any necessary paperwork. The price was far lower than we were expecting. We will certainly use APG as our first port of call going forward.

After 24 years of service, we decided that our Baxi Solo 50PF needed replacing. After a bit of research, we found that APG offered a decent quote to fit a new Worcester Bosch boiler and pump. The plumber (James) arrived on time and an electrician from APG came later and did the wiring. The whole job was completed in a day and the system was successfully commissioned after balancing and flushing. Because the boiler was very different from the Baxi, the flue exit needed to be altered slightly, which required a couple of bricks to fill in the gaps. Luckily, we had several matching bricks on hand, and the fitter did a great job sealing the gaps.

Phoned up with a central heating system not heating the downstairs radiators. Luckily they had a slot the very next day. The engineer came, diagnosed the problem, fitted a new valve actuator and had heat in the house within 15 minutes....all while also diagnosing another problem with an engineer on another job. Quite impressive!

My boiler went into error mode, leaving us without heating or hot water. APG sent someone the same day, and diagnosed a blocked condensate pipe ( not frozen). He returned within the hour with the tools to clear the blockage. The boiler is working and very grateful. I find APG to be very professional. It is easy to contact them as your call goes through to the office. Courteous, friendly staff book you in and they always turn up when agreed.

From making an appointment to arrange a quotation, to the completion of the installation of our new boiler, we were totally impressed with the professional and friendly manner APG conducted the installation. They replaced a 35 year old Baxi System wall mounted boiler in our kitchen, with a Worcester Bosch Combi into our airing cupboard. Harry and George were absolutely brilliant throughout the two days of the installation and were very diligent in all aspects of their work. Chris who provided our quotation was excellent in arranging our installation date and being present at the end to answer any questions and help with setting up the wireless thermostat, etc. Many thanks to everyone at APG for making our boiler replacement a seamless experience.

Attending on time, giving accurate advise as to options for a new boiler, accurate quotes then timely arrangement of fitting of new boiler. Explained what the plan was and tidied up properly afterwards. Head and shoulders above any of the National Gas companies. I have used the services of APG a number of times for heating and electrical work. The first thing you notice is that they turn up when they say they will, which in itself is a rarity. The engineers are always friendly, knowledgeable and are happy to explain what they are doing and why they are doing it. This last visit was to service the boiler and identify and rectify an issue with the boiler, which was thoroughly undertaken by Jimmy and resulted in a fully working system.

We needed a couple of new radiators piping and fitting, a job we knew would not be straightforward. They quoted and could do the work in a couple of weeks time. Arrived on time and set to work, as we already knew, the work would create a lot of mess and dust but they tried everything to minimise this. Work was completed on time and the guys did a fantastic job of cleaning the area affect. The radiators tested and worked great and also look great. Really couldn't fault them and would highly recommend.

I contacted APG on behalf of my elderly father for them to check out and repair a problem to his electric water heater. I was easily able to sort out a visit time for their engineer and they were prompt and punctual in visiting my father's home. A minor repair was needed and carried out then and there. My bathroom waste pipes were leaking outside the property. Les replaced some of the connections. Was only a 10-15min job so the price originally quoted was reduced significantly for which I was grateful. Had to wait for inspection, quote and acceptance but it was worth it to get a competant job done. APG are my "go to" firm for all heating, electrical and plumbing jobs. Wish I had found them years ago.

Very impressed by the prompt response to my enquiry and the speedy completion of the work. It was only a small job (tap replacement in my elderly father's kitchen) and it made such a refreshing change to find a reliable company which was actually willing to take on the work, despite being located quite some distance away. The admin staff were lovely and communicated with me in a timely manner, and the guy who did the work was on time, polite and efficient. I will be recommending this company to friends and neighbours.

We had two electricians from APG to hang a TV and chase cables into living room wall, as well as new sockets to downstairs rooms. They carried out all the work in good time, were very neat and tidy, and professional throughout. I had found APG online and picked them due to their great reviews. I have already booked them in for new radiators and in the process of obtaining a quote for new lights! A very happy customer and won’t hesitate in recommending them to friends and family.
