I started looking at solar plus battery systems late 2024. After much research I selected ASK Renewables due to the quality of the tech sales support and the price being competitive. I’ve now had the system for just over 12 months so I’ve looked back at performance vs expectations. July 25 to June 26 the PV generation was 4161kWh against 3890kWh predicted so outturn was a little better than predicted and we’ve had a fair amount of duller weather so pretty happy with that. Export revenue was £311.75 and although last year I was force discharging spare battery etc I’ve stopped doing that as the margin had dropped as my buy in rate is now at 8p and sell rate 12p with octopus. As I have an EV, the rate savings over the year have been £419 and the PV use on house load has saved £128. The rate savings is based on using 22p as the rate I could have got on the best non EV tariff which is probably a bit low than current best rate. I’ve used very little full rate power since the battery capacity is just about right, running out on probably half a dozen occasions on very dull short winter days. Thought I’d share for people looking for a system. My system is 13 panels East and West split 6/7 due to nature of my roof on 1930’s house. Gas wet CH, DHW and Hob. Hanchu 6kW hybrid inverter with 2 x 5.12kWh batteries and Gateway. Inverter and batteries mounted externally on side of house between house and external detached garage. I built my own timber enclosure.

ASK Renewables were helpful during the review process and since installation. All members have been helpful and works completed by the agreed date and fee quoted. Would recommend should anyone be considering having solar installed.

Ask Renewables have recently installed solar panels and battery at my house. From the first phone call to the office with a general enquiry to the final paperwork for the local network operator they have been thoroughly professional and polite. I booked a survey and had a call from Louis to confirm my address. When he arrived there was no pressure at all. There were no ‘managers special deals’ or ‘ if you sign today you’ll have this price but tomorrow it’s going up’ . It was a relaxed chat and measure followed by a ‘I’ll sort your quote’ and email it to you in the next day or so when I’m back in the office. The quote came the next day and was similar to the ‘rough quote’ was when I first called the office and we agreed to proceed. We were surprised that they didn’t want a penny till we were happy with the job. On the agreed date (2 weeks after the quote) two workmen came and installed the system and explained how everything worked including sorting me out on the app to monitor the system. They really knew their job and were thoroughly professional. A few days later I had an email asking if everything was satisfactory and as it was they then invoiced me for the full amount which I happily paid as their price was considerably cheaper than some I’d looked at. Would I recommend Ask Renewables….yes without any hesitation

I had a 17 Panel system installed in April 2025. The enquiry/discussion/proposal phase was carried out with a good explanation of the various options in a very friendly manner. The proposal and pricing were attractive and so an order was placed. The installation plan was clearly laid out, and took place over one day without any problems. The installers explained what they were doing, and left the site tidy. The system was working that day. Post installation paperwork was handled efficiently by the office. Since that time the system has now worked flawlessly for over a year. By my calculations the PV generation over 12 months has been 28% higher than their pre-installation calculations. I have contacted the office several times to ask for advice about tariffs and getting an EV charger and they have been prepared to take the time to explain things to me, even though it did not directly relate to the original order. Overall - highly recommended.

Ask Renewables were fantastic from start to finish and took control of the logistical and administrative requirements of the installation. All the personnel we dealt with were honest, clear, knowledgeable, professional, efficient and reliable at every stage and provided excellent service and advice. The installation itself went smoothly and was completed in a meticulous fashion within a day. Especial thanks go to Samantha, Louis, Eddie, Karyn, Richard and Olly! The customer support provided after the installation has also been first class. We are delighted with our Sigenergy system which is working exactly as it should and is saving us lots of money. The survey was both extensive and thorough. The report and quote clear and again extensive. The scaffolding was erected, two days before the installation, by a polite and careful team of three. The installation took a day and the system was working by late afternoon. The team of three carried out their work with care and explained how it all worked including the app (which they set up with my wife too). They were polite and tidied up afterwards. The director, Tony, also visited the site check everything was OK. We received excellent customer support throughout, by phone or email The whole team were first class.

I cannot speak highly enough. I have 18 panels and a Sigenergy battery. They did me a number of quotes so that I could make an informed decision and the quotes were exceptionally detailed. There were no sales conversations, just fact based technical ones and no pressure at all. The quote is emailed after the site visit so you don’t have the awkwardness of someone at your house forever. The process is clearly documented and they did exactly as they said they would. Everything was organised for me from scaffolding to a run through of the app at the end. The fitters were amazing and even replaced two of my broken roof tiles! All the admin for getting everything registered is done for you and you even get a full printed pack of the certificates in the post a few weeks after the fitting date. I am so impressed and the panels are making loads of energy too! Thank you
