I contacted Ask Renewables for a quotation for solar panels, plus battery storage because of its "Which? Trusted Traders" status. I wasn't disappointed. Every aspect of the service provided was top class: initial email/telephone communication; quality of advice during the initial survey; follow-up communication; efficiency of installation (10 panels plus battery storage all in one day); after-sales support (I had a few technical questions about the app). I was so impressed with my initial contact, survey and quote that I didn't even bother to get a quotation from another company. 8 months on I'm really happy with the installation. There have been no problems and I'm saving a significant amount of money in terms of electricity costs. I wish I'd done it years ago. I've arranged for additional battery storage to be added later this month so that my savings will be even greater this year. TIP: Pay extra for micro-inverters and go for the maximum battery storage.

After researching solar panels and providers I opted for South Yorkshire based company ASK Renewables. Not the cheapest but excellent reviews. Also they did not use Tesla batteries ( I refuse to buy from that company due to its founder!) From the initial phone call to the final follow up the service from ASK has been exemplary. My main contact, Tom, is knowledgeable and explains things well. He is easy to contact and I felt reassured at every stage. I have waited 9 months to review to make sure everything was working well; it is. Tom has been a great help after installation in helping me to get the most out of the panels and how I utilise them. Very time a date was given for survey, scaffolding or installation they were here on time. The installation crew were great. They were friendly and tidy. I was amazed at Liam's agility and skill doing all the roof work. Dino who was the electrician who installs the inverter and batteries explained everything well and did a very tidy job. He set the system up as well as helping me to sort out the LuX Power App. Ask also have the ability to see how the units are working which was reassuring. I then changed easily to a power company that provides an excellent tariff for exploring any excess electricity. Having just compared my Nov-Jan usage for last 3 years our import of electricity, even in these winter months was down 25% . In Summer it was much higher and I had a net gain on my electricity bills; in peak 2 months, using 90% solar.

ASK Renewables provided an excellent service, from the initial contact, through planning, installation and aftercare. They discussed fully what was possible, talked though a number of options, answered questions fully, and were always ready to put our needs first. The installation was carried out very professionally, on time and on budget. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Informative initial interview. Installation happened quickly on the day arranged with scaffolding erection organised by Ask. Pleasant and hard working installers. Good communication from the company throughout with follow up enquiries from them after completion of installation. The company representative was always available and contactable for information. One of our three batteries failed soon after installation but was promptly replaced. My neighbour has had solar panels fitted by Ask and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Ask Renewables was recommended by my brother who recently had a Solar system installed by them. Tom came round to do a survey and subsequently provided me a quote. Absolutely no pressure selling and I considered the price good value. On acceptance of the quote the office called to arrange a suitable installation date. Scaffolding was delivered a couple of days in advance to allow my builder to move some bathroom extraction vents from the roof. Installation was smooth and the electrician was very accommodating by taking time to route solar panel cables via a void in the house wall. Karyn and Samantha, in the office, were very quick and helpful processing the relevant documents. I am over the moon with the installation. 6kW panels and 12kWh battery storage. Even in December with low sun, the panels can generate well beyond 3kW. Batteries can also be fully charged using the cheaper Octopus Flux night-time rate. Then I use the batteries to help power the house through the day. I highly recommend Ask Renewables. A great company to do business with.

We had decided on a solar and battery installation and began to gather possible contractors to complete the work. It was at this point we found many companies didn’t take into account your needs and just wanting to sell you a product. After contacting 8-10 companies we got ASK Renewables to carry out a survey, they took a completely different approach. They considered our energy usage, reasons for wanting the install then assessed fully our home for installation. Only after this full assessment did they then provide a comprehensive quotation and plan. The decision was then chosen to progress with ASK as they were by far the most professional company contacted. I have a keen eye for electrical installation as I am an Electrical Engineer by profession and they listened to any comments I had and completed a really neat and tidy job within my garage. I have and would recommend ASK to anyone, the kit they have installed is reliable and provides an intuitive platform for interrogating the install. All the team were great from start to finish including handover of documents for enrolling to Octopus Energy Flux tariff.

We had quotes from a number of companies, and ASK were by far the best in their combination of product and price. In addition, the service from the ASK team from initial visit to post-installation check-in was superb. I really felt that Matt was interested in designing the best system for our needs rather than selling/upselling a system that was more expensive but not really needed (he convinced us that a more expensive 'optimised' system was not suited to our needs/roof). He also gave us lots of advice on how to get the most out of the system. The installation could not have gone more smoothly. The installation team were great and really nice guys - I was amazed that they were able to install in a day - and helped get the web/app system up and running. I would definitely recommend ASK Renewables!

We did our homework and approached five firms: Ask Renewables was the most impressive from the start. From the initial survey and consultation with Tom there was absolutely no pressure selling and the focus was on how a solar panel system would work for us. Tom was very generous with his time, his home visit gave us a clear understanding of the installation procedure and answered all our questions. His attention to detail and transparency was both impressive and refreshing e.g. compliance with any planning regulations; realistic predictions of solar output. He emphasised that no deposit was required and payment would be on completion of the work.The price was remarkably competitive! We had absolute confidence in proceeding with Ask Renewables. The speed and efficiency of installation was exemplary. The scaffolders and installers , Dino(electrician),Liam and Alan(roofers) all arrived promptly. They were friendly, polite, and respected our property— lovely guys! Within a few hours the system was installed and Dino advised us on the use of iPad and mobile ‘phone apps to monitor the system. The follow-up/customer care with Tom, Sam and Karen (admin’ support) is excellent. Tom and Sam have been in touch for help and advice, and to check our system is functioning efficiently.We thank them for their patience. We have no hesitation in recommending Ask Renewables.

Great experience with Ask Renewables from start to finish. Matt took time to help us decide on the best system for our household, provided a competitive quotation and has given good post installation advice. The installation team were friendly and efficient. I contacted ASK Renewables and others for a Solar PV quote. Three companies just used Google Earth and only ASK and one other company visited. I have roofs which face South, East and West. Matt was brilliant from start to finish. He surveyed my house in detail and discussed his recommendations. Matt could answer the many questions that I asked about the various options. There was no hard sales talk, just a follow up detailed design, cost and offer of support. I contacted Matt on other occasions for further advice and he was so helpful and knowledgeable and gave me so much confidence in ASK’s offering. Another key factor was that half of the scaffolding would be on my neighbour’s property in a tight space and Matt worked closely with the scaffolders to produce a plan that worked. During the installation Ed visited site to ensure that both the scaffolding was erected as planned and that the install proceeded on schedule. Dino and the installation team performed an excellent job working a long day to install 20 solar panels, two large batteries and an inverter, only leaving when I was happy with the working system. After the install, I’ve had follow-up contact from Matt to check that all is OK and to continue the offer of future support as needed. My experience with ASK Renewables has been excellent and they have been an outstanding company to deal with throughout the entire process. I would certainly recommend them for a Solar PV system install.

We had 10 solar panels and a 9.5 Kwh battery installed on the 29th September 2023. All working well. We had quotes from 7 companies and Ask renewables were very competitive on price. The whole team -survey , quote, installation and office were a pleasure to deal with . In essence -They provided the most thorough survey and best advice to meet our requirements -There was no hard sell - They did not want an up front deposit - They turned up on the due date and installed the system without a hitch. - The follow up paperwork was properly completed - Post installation advice has been easily accessed. Ask renewables know what they are doing, do it well and provide excellent value.

Excellent service. Dino and Liam arrived as scheduled and set to work immediately. Scaffolding had arrived a few days earlier as planned. They were friendly, informative, cheerful and unphased by anything. 10 panels on roof, two batteries and inverter installed, looking very neat in attic room. After my initial enquiry I was contacted by Tom who arranged a visit to discuss a solar/battery installation. There was no pressure to sign up and Tom gave sound advice and recommendations for a suitable system. After placing my order Ask Renewables dealt with the DLO to gain the required approvals and after the inevitable delays with the DLO my installation was booked just days after the approvals were received. I was even given an upgrade on my panels free of charge as the original panels ordered were not available at the time of my installation appointment. The installation was completed within a matter of hours and all the people involved were polite, efficient and tidy in their work and I was given clear instructions in the use of my system on completion. I would not hesitate in recommending Ask Renewables to anyone interested in a solar/battery system.

Shortly following my contact with Ask Renewables, their assessor Matt rang to make an appointment to visit my property. He was polite, friendly, and very informative, in a manner which I could understand as a non-technical person. He did detailed measurements regarding the best place for panels to be placed and gave me full information regarding what I could expect from installation of a solar system - panels, inverter and two batteries - currently and over subsequent years. Matt then left his card and gave me time to consider everything with no pressure at all. Printed information followed shortly through the post, so that I could clearly see what had been discussed. I was free to ring Matt at any time to clarify anything I did not fully understand. He answered everything fully and clearly. Having decided to employ them, I was passed to Ed who was responsible for overseeing installation. He was equally approachable and helpful. The guys who installed the system were great, efficient and tidy. Samantha in the office was also great, giving me more helpful information, and I didn’t have to pay a penny until everything was installed and working to my satisfaction.

Ask Renewable have recently installed a 10 solar panel and two battery system. From the outset, it was clear that they wanted us to have a system that best suited us, with no "hard sell". They were very responsive to our questions and concerns, which were all answered quickly and knowledgably. The whole process was efficient, friendly, polite and professional, from the first visit to discuss requirements and design, the fitters and electrician throughout the installation, and the scaffolders, and there was very little disruption or mess. An excellent service from a family led company that genuinely cares about its customers.

We had been thinking about solar panels for some time and decided to get some quotes to see if it was feasible on our Victorian, three storey terrace house. We went through Which Trusted Traders as we felt we could trust their reviews. The service and support from Ask Renewables was excellent throughout. Matt took a couple of hours over the survey of the house, checking the roofs of the original house and the modern extension; taking measurements; asking questions. He took us through how the system would work; explained where the inverter and batteries would be housed and answered my many questions. There was no pressurised sales talk which we were grateful for. We both felt this was the company to go with. A date was agreed, scaffolding erected and the team of Alan, Dino and Liam set about doing a super job of installing six panels on the original house and four on the extension. They met the demands of an old house; stone roof flags; solid walls; three storeys at the back and two at the front with cheerfulness and expertise, explaining what they were doing along the way. They were professional, courteous and hard working. Matt even cleared the gutter whilst he was up on the scaffolding. The team tidied up after themselves and the work is neat and unobtrusive. The system has been working for a week now with no problems. We are very pleased with the service received from all members of the team, thank you.

I contacted this company after reading the excellent Which reviews that were universally positive and even though they were outside my immediate geographical location. The initial contact was professional and efficient and was pleased to hear that they carried out an in person house survey to establish suitability and discuss requirements. At no point in the process was there any pressure selling, which I found very refreshing. Matt carried out a full survey of my house and spent an appreciable amount of time discussing my requirements and queries. He was professional, knowledgeable and treated my house with respect. I finally agreed to have 12 Solar panels and took up the option of extra battery storage and a larger inverter. The resultant competitive quotation was as expected and installation took place around one month after the survey. The installation happened on the agreed date, with scaffolding erected a few days before. Two men worked on the roof, whilst an electrician ensured a safe and tidy installation of the batteries, inverter etc in the garage. The whole job was completed in the morning to a high standard. The installation team were polite, tidy, friendly and efficient. The company did not want a deposit and full payment was only required a week after installation to ensure that the system was working properly. Matt was happy to help me with any subsequent queries. I found the whole process to be excellent and would highly recommend this company.

Can I just say what a pleasure it has been to do business with the company. Tom who came to do the quote - took plenty of time, was very knowledgeable and personable, answered all my queries and dealt with my email queries promptly even at weekends with no sales pressure whatsoever. The scaffolders were nice lads and the fitters Rob and Mark and the electrician Ben were all very nice and hard working. They enjoyed their work, were very professional, did a great job and didn't seem to mind getting absolutely soaked through doing the fitting in the pouring rain. The panels are generating plenty of electricity including enough for charging my car. I can appreciate why they are a Which Trusted Trader.

Installing a solar panel system is an expensive capital investment and we were bewildered by the number of companies available. There were also lots of horror stories. Having found that Ask-Renewables were relatively local to me (Yorkshire) and the highest rated Solar PV company on Which? I arranged for a survey to be carried out after my first phone call with Samantha - not a sales rep but a director of the company. Nothing was too much trouble (despite my having my own ideas about what I wanted my system to achieve) and at no point did I feel that I was being pressured into buying something. Their advice was good (I did my research) and, having found them to be very competitive on price, we arranged the install. It is worth noting that we obtained three quotes in total and, not only were Ask the most competitive, they were also by far the most professional in their approach. One company quoted after looking at our house on Google Earth and then tried to pressure us repeatedly to sign up! Not Ask. The install was incredibly smooth despite my particular requirements not being 'standard' and even when an additional item was required (again, due to my particular needs) someone jumped in a car and brought it out to the fitting team. All done and complete in the day! We installed a large 8kw array with a 6kw hybrid inverter on a south facing roof. Our first week generated enough power for our whole house inc ev and sent £50 back to the grid!

I've been wanting to get Solar for a long time but only recently when the price of energy has gone up thought I was ready. The tech has improved recently so now is a great time to get a system installed. I got another quote before speaking to ASK, but ASK's quote was much better (by about £1k) and for a larger system (8 panels instead of 7). After quoting for 2 sizes of system (8 or 16 panels) I went for 8 panels and 2 x 3.2 kWh batteries. No deposit was needed and the guarantees / warranties are great. The installation was done efficiently the day after the scaffolding was put up, panels on in the morning and electrical equipment fitted by 2pm. My only gripe is the promised "guide to the online software" hasn't happened yet. There are lots of screens and options which don't make much sense or use short acronyms without any explanation. Note, the mobile app didn't work for me but you can go through the website. Having said that, they have called me a few times to offer to send an engineer to inspect the system. The first couple of days the inverter was taking power from the grid instead of the battery but now things seem to have settled down and the system is running smoothly (so I declined the engineer visit). So far the record day has generated 21 kWh and I'm a low user (roughly 1500 kWh / year). In 1 month (May) I've used only 12 kWh from the grid. I'm very happy with that. I'm interested to see how the system performs over the whole year.

We had our Solar Panel system installed by Ask Renewables Ltd a few weeks ago and we have nothing but praise for the company. We are extremely pleased with Ask Renewables Ltd in the way they conducted themselves from start to finish. The whole process was handled with due care and attention in a very professional and courteous manner: from Sam in the office who handled all the logistics and paperwork; Matt who came to visit our house and design a suitable system for our needs; the solar panel installers (Mark and Rob) who did a great job fitting the panels as agreed; the electrician Ben who got it all fitted, connected and working seamlessly; the scaffolders, who were also polite and friendly. The whole process was handled well by everyone with no pressure tactics to make decisions quickly. I was impressed that we did not have to pay anything upfront and in fact, full payment was only paid when we were happy with the system fully up and running at the end. The app that was installed on our phone is extremely useful to monitor the system and also helps to see what electricity is being generated/used etc. All in all, I would highly recommend Ask Renewables Ltd if you are looking for a Solar Panel system to be installed on your premises as they did an excellent job with ours. They are also a ‘Which Trusted Trader’ which you can check on the appropriate website.

ASK Renewables supplied & installed a solar PV system together with battery storage at our property. This was a daunting prospect but we needn’t have worried because we were in good hands. From the very first telephone call to completion and beyond they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I fully concur with the many positive comments here, however a couple of items stand out for me. Firstly, out of all the traders I contacted they were the only one that insisted on performing an on-site survey before providing a quote. This caused a slight delay but it was well worth the wait. In my mind this is essential as any unforeseen problems can be uncovered at an early stage and dealt with before the quotation. It also gives you the chance to discuss your requirements face-to-face with the designer and ask as many questions as you like. Secondly, how a trader reacts to an issue that arises after completion and you've parted with your money is key. In our case an issue arose weeks after completion that was not ASK's fault. I phoned them to simply ask for their advice, however I was pleasantly surprised when they immediately offered to send someone out to sort this issue. They were not under any obligation to do this and it is a mark of a truly outstanding company. Finally, when the time came to apply for a SEG tariff with our energy supplier all the necessary certification and documentation had been correctly supplied. We would not hesitate to recommend ASK Renewables to anyone.

We decided to contact Ask Renewables after reading the wonderful reviews on the Which website and we wholeheartedly agree with their comments. Sam (in the office) skillfully guided us through the process and arranged for Tom to carry out a site visit. He asked us what we would like before mentioning any of their products and this was very refreshing as previous quotes were quite heavy on sales patter. Tom discussed where would be best to site the inverter and batteries and after an inspection of the roof and measurements we had another chat to discuss what size of array was possible and our options on which type of inverter/batteries might best suit. There was no pressure to order a specific set up and we soon received a detailed quote from Tom which set out everything with a clear price. We tweaked it slightly - adding extra batteries (for future proofing) as we intend to purchase another EV in a couple of year's time. Once we accepted the quote we were looked after by Sam again who applied for the DNO regarding the 5 Kw inverter. It came back quickly so Sam booked our installation for 21st March 2023. Scaffolding was erected 2 days before the 3 installers arrived. We were amazed at how smoothly/quickly the installation went and were guided through installing the monitoring app onto our phones before they left - fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly guys. We highly recommend the whole team at Ask Renewables! The system is already providing significant savings!

We had a visit from Neil on 23/01/23. He was very knowledgeable about the products and what we could realistically expect. He then did a very thorough job surveying our property, checking roof trusses, and possible position of the battery. A week later we received a very comprehensive quote and paperwork tailored to our property giving very clear breakdowns of what each component contributes to the system. Once we committed to the quote things moved very fast. There were no costs paid up front. Scaffolding arrived on Monday 13th February and the panels were fitted on Thursday 16th February. The fitters were very careful and respectful of the property and the fitting was completed in a single morning. We were set up with an app to monitor the panel’s production and the battery. Ask renewables monitored the solar yield to ensure all was working correctly before they sent out the invoice for the full payment. All the paperwork arrived a couple of weeks later and that enabled us to contact our energy provider to sell our excess energy to the grid. The whole process from start to finish was so easy. All the permissions were obtained by Ask on our behalf and we did not have to get involved. The company was very easy to contact and exceptionally knowledgeable about everything to do with the process from start to finish. We are so delighted with the company and the service they provided we recommended them to a friend who has also had panels fitted by Ask.
