We are the quintessential family business that has evolved from one man with a motorcycle and sidecar, to a professional and modern multi product window blind and awning manufacturer and installer whilst still retaining the values that have been passed down through the generations

Established in 1887, by Mr E.A Barlow, the company flourished and in 1927 he felt he had earned a more restful time, deciding to retire and pass the business on to someone else’s capable hands

Those capable hands belonged to Frank Coleman, and the company has been successfully run by the Coleman family ever since

Great installation but poor after service when out of warranty

Whilst the blinds purchased was expensive but of good quality and installation done within a day, just over 3 months out of warranty we had a string break in one blind. On calling Barlow Blinds we were told it's out of warranty and will incur a call out charge of £55 which may not fix the issue. Further I was told it will need to go to the factory for a re-fit which will cost extra. I left my details for a call back to confirm charges. No call back since and I managed to fix the issue myself for just over £3 for some string. It's love to recommend the company but it's is shameful to take advantage of a customer when the fix is so simple and cheap.

Thank you for bring this to my attention. I'm really sorry that you feel that the £55 charge is shameful for blinds that are outside of the 2 year guarantee. The charge is simply to cover of fitters time and includes 1 hour on site and any repairs that are carried out in our factory and a return visit should it be needed. My apologies if this was not made clear during your call and I've called a meeting with the office staff to confirm our after sales policy . Having never heard or dealt with Barlow blinds before I was a little hesitant to use somebody for my project whom I found on the internet. From my initial enquiry, where I chatted with the receptionist, to the surveyor who came out and measured for the blinds and finally, the installers who attended and professionally fitted the blinds. The whole experience from start to finish has been nothing but exceptional. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the service I received. I’ve been working to a dead line which I shared with the receptionist - the company went out of their way to make sure the products were installed in the timeframe specified. The product is fantastic and they are one of the best companies I have dealt with in a long while. I would like to pass on my thanks and gratitude to all the staff. I will certainly be spreading the Barlow name to my colleagues in the industry. Many thanks for a job well done.

I had three replacement window/patio door vertical blinds including the tracks. While there was a slight fault with one on the blinds it was identified by the fitter and replaced with no fuss. Everyone I came into contact with from visiting the showroom to the guys fitting the blinds was extremely helpful and courteous. I am really pleased with the blinds which I felt were good value for money. I would have no hesitation in using Barlow Blinds again and have recommended them to members of my family.

My awning just needed the fabric replacing. It's quite hard to find a company that will do this, as most want to sell you a completely new package, but Barlows were happy to take it on. They turned up on time for the initial appt and quote. We agreed on a price and they came and took the awning to their workshop. It's operated by an electric motor and they serviced the motor and replaced the fabric. They even installed a small junction box on the outside wall. When they returned with the awning there was a small error and they took it back to their workshop immediately and rectified it. I wasn't able to be at home when they wanted to return it because my husband was in hospital so they offered to keep the awning until it was convenient for me. At all times the staff were knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, polite and punctual. Nothing was too much trouble. My awning is now in place and working well and I would recommend Barlows to anyone.

Had Venetian blinds fitted to several windows. Service was great from the first contact in the shop through to fitting. The only thing I would say is that it would be good if the office staff had more knowledge of the products so they were able to answer minor queries. The blinds were a reasonable price, were fitted before the estimated time and we are very pleased with them.

Barlow Blinds installed 3 Luxaflex blinds, 2 mororised and one Lite glide. The quote was competitive. The whole process was thoroughly professional from first survey and quotation to the fitting. Everything was done to a pre-agreed date and time-slot. The fitting in particular was mess free with all packaging materials removed on completion. Blind operation was demonstrated on completion. Based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend Barlow Blinds to anyone. Excellent customer service.

This company were half the price of others that I asked for a quote! They were quiet, efficient and there was no ‘wide boy’ hard sell . When they fitted my blinds, they took down and took away all the old stuff, they were clean and tidy and worked quickly and quietly. The blinds look great. Really good job Barlow Blinds Thank you!
