We are the quintessential family business that has evolved from one man with a motorcycle and sidecar, to a professional and modern multi product window blind and awning manufacturer and installer whilst still retaining the values that have been passed down through the generations

We offer a very personalised local service and are very protective of our reputation, always striving to ensure our clients appreciate both our service and the quality of our products

Established in 1887, by Mr E.A Barlow, the company flourished and in 1927 he felt he had earned a more restful time, deciding to retire and pass the business on to someone else’s capable hands

Those capable hands belonged to Frank Coleman, and the company has been successfully run by the Coleman family ever since

We had blinds fitted by Barlow blinds. The service was really good and efficient. Paul who came to fit the blinds was friendly and professional. He has done an excellent job of fitting blinds.

I had a set of Venetian blinds and some INTU Venetians installed in my home by Paul and Matt. Both arrived on time, were polite and professional and completed the job to a high standard with little to no mess or fuss. I am very happy with their work and my new blinds. Cannot thank them enough.

We have just had a very large awning with light bar fitted. Three men arrived and took four hours to fit it. They were very professional and totally competent. There was a slight hiccup which was immediately rectified. At all stages we were kept informed and the fitters were extremely pleasant. I would certainly recommend this company.

Our new blind was fitted on the day and time arranged and was to the price agreed. The young man who did the job was polite and the job was carried out in a professional manner. All mess was hoovered and packing taken away.

Superb service from outset to completion. The first port of call was to the receptionist and she was marvelous and let me know when they would be coming. Steve attended after we had received a picture recognition letter for security. He provided an acceptable quotation. We had another call to give the date a fitter would attend. Paul M called in advance on the day, he was very kind, helpful and thoughtful and would definitely use them again.

Just had my blinds fitted with Barlow Blinds, Paul was amazing. Good work ethics, arrived on time, polite, helpful, respectful around my home, and a perfectionist made a few tweaks just to make sure it looked great and worked well. The service from start to finish have been amazing. I’m a very happy customer, will recommend to friends, family and will return for future services.

Great installation but poor after service when out of warranty

Whilst the blinds purchased was expensive but of good quality and installation done within a day, just over 3 months out of warranty we had a string break in one blind. On calling Barlow Blinds we were told it's out of warranty and will incur a call out charge of £55 which may not fix the issue. Further I was told it will need to go to the factory for a re-fit which will cost extra. I left my details for a call back to confirm charges. No call back since and I managed to fix the issue myself for just over £3 for some string. It's love to recommend the company but it's is shameful to take advantage of a customer when the fix is so simple and cheap.

Thank you for bring this to my attention. I'm really sorry that you feel that the £55 charge is shameful for blinds that are outside of the 2 year guarantee. The charge is simply to cover of fitters time and includes 1 hour on site and any repairs that are carried out in our factory and a return visit should it be needed. My apologies if this was not made clear during your call and I've called a meeting with the office staff to confirm our after sales policy . Once the guarantee has expired we do not walk away, unlike some other Companies Thank you again for bringing this to my attention. Phil Coleman Managing Director
