Our external door from the kitchen to garden and rear door to the garage needed replacement. I had ongoing problems with the original kitchen door requiring several visits by the company to rectify. These repairs/modifications were never carried out to our satisfaction, which led to the new doors being ordered. The entire process from enquiry to site visit, surveying, etc... and eventually the removal of the old and the fitting of the new, was carried out with friendly professionalism. Throughout the entire time, communication via emails and texts kept us abreast of everything. Overall, the process was seamless, the work was carried out to our satisfaction and the product quality second to none. I would highly recommend Barnet Window Company.

Barnet Window Company installed two windows and a door on our garage. The company communicated very well with us at every stage of the process (including an initial consultation, talking us through the options and sending detailed design drawings for what was, on the face of it, a pretty basic job). This stood in stark contrast to some other companies we had tried to get quotes from. The work itself was also of a very high standard. If there was a tiny gripe on my part it would be that we had to wait three months for installation... but then again the company is clearly in high demand, which speaks volumes for the quality of the workmanship.

I picked BWC because it is a family-run firm and has a good reputation. There are certainly a lot of happy customers that have posted reviews here. But all of this changed for me when I started to experience problems with the windows they installed in 2016 and 2018, purported to be a 'premium product' and claimed 'to last longer than cheaper versions'. Initially they were very helpful, and would come out to fix the problems under the guarantee. But when problems start to occur even before final payment has been made, callouts under the guarantee happen multiple times a year, and items that are 'fixed' break again within a short period of time or the same problems happen to other windows, there is clearly a more fundamental issue with the installed products. BWC was initially helpful with raising these points with the manufacturer, even stating in writing that 'it is clear that these problems are clearly manufacturing issues'. But this changed as soon as they became aware that it is the retailer, not the manufacturer, that is legally liable under consumer law. Suddenly BWC started to claim that all of the issues - sections of my windows falling off (10 times) and gaps appearing in my 'energy-efficient' windows to let in cold draughts (8 times) - are merely 'cosmetic issues'. I have offered them the chance to retract their assertion - particularly as it contradicts their previous stance - but as they are standing by it I feel I have no choice except to post this review.

Dear customer, As we all know there are 2 sides to every story. You had a 12 year guarantee which we would always honour, visiting whenever required to address your issues. Your request for a full refund on your installation to the value of £45,000 left us no option but to defend our position. You went to the Ombudsman who reviewed the information from both sides. Their award supported our request to rectify the faults and supported our suggestion to have the 3rd party consultant attend to sign off the works at our cost. Their award included an amount of £350 as compensation. You rejected these findings refusing permission for us to carry out these works and instead decided to submit a claim in the small claims court for £10,000 a reduction of £35,000 on your previous position. The agreement reached in the small claims court included a full discharge of all future obligations with an allowance of £5,500 for all remedial works. A realistic and fact-based approach as outlined by the Ombudsman and the Judge would have enabled a sensible solution to have been reached at the outset. To not waiver from a position of a full refund only served to delay coming to a realistic settlement. We are disappointed at your representation of the “facts” and with your ongoing adverse publicity campaign in spite of the Judges request for this to cease.

We wanted our front door replaced with a Solidor so we turned to Barnet Window company as they were local to us and had excellent reviews. From my initial email to Tommy, Steve surveying, Abby arranging installation and Kim doing the actual install, the level of customer service has been excellent. At each step (ordering, surveying and installation) everything was properly explained and timing expectations were managed due to Covid. On the day of the install Kim arrived on time, was diligent, fast, clean and did a great job. Could not ask for more. Very happy with the new door and I have already enquired out about replacing my windows. In my experience the reviews were accurate and I would highly recommend this well run family business.

I had Barnet windows install a door a few years back. Due to being directly in the sun it's expanded/contracted multiple times over these years, loosening things up a bit. Upon calling up they set up a service straight away and came over within a few days to sort the door. Brilliant service, Andy was great. Highly recommend.

From our first contact with Barnet Windows to order a Solidor front door, we were impressed with the professionalism and friendliness we experienced. Under COVID distancing regulations, Tommy visited us to do the initial measurements and to go over estimated costs. Because of the way our house is built and some specific features we wanted retained, we needed a second visit from Steve the surveyor, and we finalised our order. The buying process was clearly explained and the team were transparent about possible manufacturing delays due to the pandemic. The dealings we had with the admin team were all prompt, polite and very helpful to us. The install was done last week. Dave the installer turned up on time first thing, and we liked his approach to the work. He protected our hall with dust sheets and he cleaned as he went along - by the time he left we think our porch was cleaner than before he arrived! He worked through to mid-afternoon when the job was completed, not even pausing during some quite heavy rain showers. The final finish was perfect. We cannot fault the quality of work or the product. We can’t recommend Barnet Windows and Solidor enough.

Installation of a single Solidor front porch door with side panels performed in a single day. The installation was very well planned for Covid safety and the initial installation was performed in a very safe, efficient and tidy manner. There were 2 clear problems with the install: one side panel moved, rubber seal inside one glass unit torn in side panel and 2 moot points: gap inside between frame and side panel and top of door frame not sealed from the outside (sealed from inside). Barnet Windows rectified all issues to my satisfaction quickly and without quibbling, which is to be highly praised in a supplier. The only negative that I have to report is that I do wish that the supplier had applied more thorough quality control to the materials and the installation which may have reduced the number of required visits to finish the job. This is especially important during this Corona Pandemic although I must stress that supplier acted safely and responsibly at all times: mask ..... etc.
