Beales Landscapes

Our decision to use Beales landscaping was made after looking at various local landscaping company reviews and response to requests for an appointment and quote. Beales Landscaping met our expectations with response and after first appointment made us feel confident that we had chosen the right company. Our terraced garden was on a slope with raised decking, which was our attempt to level garden, but had unfortunately come to the end of its use. After our first meeting with John, he confirmed that with a few alterations he would be able to fit a mini digger through a tight access to our rear garden. This allowed us to lower and level the garden creating a permanent porcelain patio and a more pleasant outlook from our kitchen window. John, Chris, Mark and Kev carried out the work and all contributed ideas to improve the layout of the garden. A very attractive 'Burford' wall and wider steps made access to our new patio and upper area of garden so much easier. This along with levelling, returfing of lawn which originally ran off to one side is now retained with oak sleepers. John kept everything in order emailing us with any quotes and invoices as we went along. The only negative we can give is that communication could have been better with regard to when they were/not coming due to weather/other commitments. The boys were a pleasure to have around, always professional and courteous. But most importantly, they gave us a garden we craved. And now the planting begins!

We approached Beales as ill health had brought our garden project to a halt. Like most people we didn’t have a bottomless pot of money but we wanted to achieve the garden of our choice so we were pleased to find a company willing to work with us to achieve this. It was initially difficult to communicate our vision but once established the team from Beales worked tirelessly throughout the project digging out tons of soil, installing sleeper retaining walls, building fiddly cobble walls and laying beautiful Indian sandstone paths and patio. Particular shout out to Cal who was meticulous in his work even on days when he was ankle deep in mud and lashing rain. We are extremely pleased with the end result and a problem area that was unusable most of the year because of drainage issues, will now be accessible year round. We look forward to planting out and completing the nicer parts ourselves in the coming months. A lesson we learnt is that when commissioning landscaping work it is essential that both parties agree a very detailed specification as minor misunderstandings can have an adverse impact on costs and timescales as can the weather.

Beales Landscaping was recommended by our garden designer. It was a big project to replace 150 sq m of patio, create a flight of steps to a lawn area, build 4 raised beds in a newly surfaced kitchen garden area, build a new driveway apron, construct a paved fire pit seating area, and a wildlife pond and bog garden. Their work is impressive, not least their attention to detail and the ability to adapt a design to find workable solutions. Passionate about what they do, committed to delivering great results, they are a pleasure to have around and we highly recommend.

We found out about Beale Landscapes after they did a very nice redesign of our neighbours’ back garden, and decided to ask them to sort out our very sorry looking small front garden. It now looks great with new edging, slate chippings replacing the old gravel, and all the untidy vegetation tidied up or removed. They were able to start really quickly and worked equally fast, and are a friendly lot. Would definitely recommend!
