After fruitlessly waiting weeks for another company to quote for a replacement boiler Blackwell came out a couple of days later and provided a written quote the next day. The work was scheduled for a few days later and completed efficiently and in a pleasant manner as was the follow up powerflush. They even had their joiner box in the pipework. A first class service. On top of that the original company finally sent a quote almost £1000 more than Blackwell's!

This company had serviced our old gas boiler for four years. When we decided that it needed to be replaced. We asked Blackwell heating and plumbing limited. To give us an estimate for the work that needed to be done. Andy the company manager came on the day we requested, we found him very personable, knowledgeable and professional. We explained what we wanted from him, he looked at what needed to be done and then he advised us accordingly. We never felt under any pressure to go with what he advised. The following day the estimate arrived with a number of options. We selected what we needed and we were happy with the quotes which were included in the estimate. We chose the date when the work was to start. The service engineers arrived at the stipulated time, and so did the company delivering the materials. The work was completed within the time frame they gave us. It was carried out to a very high standard. The engineers were very professional focusing on their work each day. They were pleasant, polite and very efficient, removing all the waste material and cleaning up at the end of each day. When the work was complete you could not tell they had actually been apart from having a new efficient heating system. We cannot recommend this company highly enough.

I contacted this trader being local to my boiler installation as a trusted trader. The office lady was very helpful in giving me the date that I had asked for, a 2 hour time slot and also the total cost. The technician duly arrived on time, carried out the boiler service and carried out the gas safety requirements very professionally. The landlord gas safety certificate was issued the same afternoon. All in all,I was very impressed with their service and will certainly use them again.

Can't recommend enough. Very professional from Andy's first visit, to the fitters' final finish of the new shower suite and flooring. He hit a few unexpected/hidden snags that couldn't have been foreseen and dealt with them promptly and efficiently at no extra cost. All high quality fittings used and couldn't be more pleased with the finished article and the price. would highly recommend to anyone. A big thank you to Andy and his team. As well as carrying out an annual boiler service for me (5 years so far), I have also phoned for advice and also recently had a repair to the boiler and a radiator. All of the staff I spoke to were helpful and professional. The engineer arrived during the appointed time, was helpful and friendly, and also tidied away all waste. Realised I had a cold water leak at 8.00 pm. An immediate email to Blackwell Heating and Plumbing resulted in a prompt reply from them first thing the following morning. As a result the problem had been found and the matter resolved very early in the morning by 8.30 am after the initial phone call from them. All the work was done much to my relief and satisfaction. First class service, care and attention. Thank you.

I initially dealt with MD Andrew Thomas and wanted replacements for night storage heaters in my electric-only 2 bedroom Flat and a pump to improve my poor water pressure. My reason for the changes were purely to lower the cost of my electric bills. During his site visit Andrew stated that rather than a pump it would be more cost effective to remove the existing water tank and install a smaller tank which would also improve the water pressure. I took this 'expert' advice and agreed to the work which was carried out in February 2021. The fitters were great, clean, tidy, pleasant and professional. Unfortunately the same accolades cannot be said for the company customer after-care service. I discovered to my horror that my monthly electricity bill for March was £200 so on 5 April I emailed Blackwell to request help as 'something' was obviously not right, I had left all the settings on the units exactly as the fitters left them which was at the lowest settings. Initially they said that Andrew would telephone me to arrange to call round but later that afternoon I received an email from them saying that £200 a month was quite normal and if I wanted a call out it would be subject to their usual call out fee! I emailed back expressing my disappointment and having given them a week to reconsider their stance feel I have no alternative but to leave this review to advice others of my experience so they can make a thoroughly informed decision regarding whether to employ Blackwell Plumbing.

I found the service very friendly and easy to talk too. The engineer was very good servicing the boiler, and very polite I will be using the service again.

A very good job completed to a very high standard by very skilled and courteous trade persons. They are a credit to the company. The Directors of the company, Andy and Clare are involved from start to finish and always available to answer any queries. They both work with you and nothing is too much trouble. The fact that they are the owners of the family business is reflected in the high standards they expect. I would highly recommend Blackwell Heating and Plumbing. We have used them previously to install a new heating system and now a new bathroom. We shall most certainly be in contact with them for our next project.

I contacted Blackwell Heating & Plumbing at short notice after being let down by a larger national firm. They arranged an appointment for a boiler service at short notice and at a very reasonable price. The engineer that came was friendly and straight away mentioned how much he 'loved' our type of boiler, setting my mind at rest that he wasn't about to conveniently find faults he could charge a repair fee for. The service was completed quickly and the engineer and the office went the extra mile to process my payment there and then to hasten the production of the boiler service record I needed in order to proceed with my property sale. Will 100% use again in my new property.

A very efficient friendly workforce arrived on time and left everything clean and tidy upon completion, the director turned up twice to make sure everything was ok. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others, very good after sales with flowers delivered as a thank you.

We have used Blackwell's for maintenance to our old boiler on a number of occasions and always found the service from the admin staff to the engineers to be good, helpful and reasonably priced. Naturally, when we decided the time had come for a new boiler we obtained a number of quotes for comparison. Not only was Blackwell's the most reasonable, we had complete confidence in them. Despite being mid-lockdown, the engineers arrived on the date agreed, completed the job on time despite appalling wet weather (and an outside boiler!) and were tidy, professional and courteous. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andy and his team for their personal approach.

The work was carried out at the specified time for taking out the old back boiler, water tank, header tank and decommissioning of the old back boiler and gas fire, and replacing it with a new Baxi combi boiler and radiators. The installation was very efficient neat, clean and tidy with hardly any visible evidence of new pipework.

Very pleased with recent emergency boiler replacement. The job was done quickly and efficiently and everything was left clean and tidy on completion. The staff was pleasant and courteous. In the middle of the COVID-19 crisis our thermostat broke which left us without heating. A quick phone call on the Monday brought a callout on the same day and hey presto a new thermostat fitted on the following day - fantastic service with social distancing observed and heating restored - very efficient and great service by a great company and we are very grateful! The shower would not switch off and could only be controlled by switching the main stop tap off. We contacted them and they were there at the first possible opportunity, my availability not theirs. they checked it out let me know what was wrong and offered 2 options. We chose to replace the shower, they came back immediately and did the job all in less than 2 hours. I would highly recommend them.

I initially had a quote from to British Gas for our new boiler but due to poor communication and customer service on their part I cancelled the order. I suppose I chose Blackwell Heating and Plumbing by chance. I had seen their vans around so completed an online enquiry. From the initial survey to the completed work I have nothing but praise for the company. The staff arrived promptly were very polite and efficient they were clean and tidy workers and always tidied up before finishing. The work was scheduled to last a day and a morning it did, the estimate quoted was the price we paid (£1300 less than British Gas). I will also definitely use Blackwell Heating for the annual service, I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

We contracted Blackwell to convert a small, shallow broom closet into a downstairs WC. This involved extending the broom cupboard into our living room to make it large enough for the WC. It was a small space and so a toilet with a sink on top was recommended. Also, due to the location of the room, it was not possible to fit a regular toilet due to no space under the floor for normal waste pipes, therefore a macerator was the only option and the small diameter and pumping system meant it could go into the attic and across into the main waste pipe. We are very happy with the standard of work. It was made good with new flooring, and all of the skirting and coving was replaced in the lounge where the extension to the room had been made. Radiator also fitted. I'd heard stories of macerators being noisy and unreliable. We have had it for two weeks now and am happy with how quiet it is and there have been no issues as yet. Professional company who can be trusted. Thoroughly recommend.

We have just had our annual boiler service by Blackwell Plumbing and Heating. As always the engineer was very professional and efficient. We have used Blackwell Plumbing and Heating since the boiler was installed and always had excellent service from them, they are easy to contact and book an engineer. The main points are,they leave no mess, leave the house as they found it, answer any questions we have and have always arrived at the correct time. There prices are very reasonable for a job well done. We would have no hesitation in recommending to other people.

Blackwell H & P Ltd removed my oil fired heating system and replaced it with a gas heating system - namely a Worcester System boiler on 06/11/2016. The engineers, Adam and Connor took less than 2 days to complete the job. Very clean tidy and polite engineers. The firm also arranged for my old huge metal oil tank to be taken away a few days later. No problems whatsoever with my new heating system and today 07/11/2017, Blackwell returned to do the first one year service on the new boiler. Everything is working OK,,,no problems. Outstanding service...I am very pleased...Thank you Blackwell.

Recently had a new combi boiler fitted. Obtained a satisfactory quote, alongside some good advice and had the boiler fitted a couple of weeks later. Installers were very efficient and friendly and just got on with the job. No long stops for tea breaks, in fact amazingly apart from 40 minutes lunch they just worked straight through. House was left clean and tidy and someone came back to cover some exposed pipework a couple of weeks later. A couple of radiators were not working correctly but this was quickly rectified. One slight issue was an extra £54 bill by having to call out the burglar alarm engineer to re-set the alarm after the installer had accidentally taken out a fuse when removing the old hot water tank. We did ask if Blackwells could cover this - as it was their fault, but heard nothing back. Other than this minor issue we were extremely happy with the work done and have no hesitation in recomending them.

We were thrilled with the amazing work done, from the initial quoting and planning process to the finished results the service has been flawless The guys were so professional, polite and worked so cleanly, I had been warned by friends that have had bathrooms done to buckle in for some serious inconvenience, delays and mess but my experience has been the opposite. I was given expert advice and was guided away from generic beige and into some bolder choices that look so contemporary and fresh. Having recently moved to Darlington there were several issues needing to be attended to including a repair to the gas boiler and full service, replacement of two leaking radiator valves, leaking toilet soil pipe, etc. These were all dealt with promptly by a very pleasant engineer without any fuss. I was charged exactly what was quoted and am very happy with the work that was done.

I was very impressed with the engineer Kevin who repaired my boiler and serviced it. Polite and professional. Very tidy worker. I would certainly use this company again.
