Blue Flame Service Ltd is a local firm based in Maryport, Cumbria, originally set up by David Harrison in 2003. Over the past 15 years we have developed and grown into one of Cumbria ’s leading utility contractors providing first class plumbing, heating, electrical and renewable services.

Our fleet of 5 fully fitted vehicles support all the services we provide covering the whole of Cumbria, Millom to Carlisle, Whitehaven to Penrith.

The work undertaken was to service my oil boiler for the second time. Having used Blue Flame Services Ltd 12 months previously I was confident that the work undertaken would be completed on time and to the highest standard. The work had been booked 2 weeks earlier. On the morning of the agreed date I received an email confirming that the Engineer was on his way and would arrive at 8am. Sure enough Reece arrived bang on time and got straight to work. The service took approximately an hour and a half to complete. Reece then tested the boiler to check that it was working properly. There was excellent communication with a clear explanation as to what had been done. Professional performance from start to finish. Thank you Reece.

Put a call in on behalf of my Mam whose gas fire wasn’t working properly. The engineer inspected it thoroughly and while unable to fix it, explained it was in fact very old and needed replacing. He was polite to my Mam and respectful of her property. The bill: £50. Very good value for money & wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Thankyou.

Blue Flame has been servicing my electric boiler for some years and I was aready impressed by their quality of work and friendly efficient service. When my central heating pipes burst and the water drained out of my heating system necessitating installation of a new system I was dreading the upheaval that pulling up the the flooring etc, would cause. The two engineers who did the job were very friendly, communicative, fast, efficient and multi skilled. The work on my house was quite complex due to the nature of the build, but the engineers quickly worked out a plan to get around the problems and had the job done in two and a half days rather than the three days I was initially advised. The cosmetic remedial work they finished off the job with means that you would had hardly know they had been here and my house is once again warm. The word "impressed" seems insignificant in relation to this company and I would highly recommend Blue Flame to anyone.

I cannot recommend Blue Flame more highly. They are absolute professionals. Their communication, prior to and during the job, was excellent, their attitude to work was extremely positive, which was a pleasure to see and they went above and beyond, even pressure-washing my path before leaving. They left the place spotless and took away all the old workings after fitting my new boiler. They were able to squeeze me in ahead of time, which really means a lot at this time of year. After trying to get a plumber out for 3 weeks with no success (we're in a rural area) I contacted my local Blue Flame office. The call was answered quickly and the job booked in there and then. It took the plumber about a minute to sort out our loo, that had water running into the cistern constantly. It was driving me up the wall - it sounded like an indoor water feature! Really impressed with how quickly this was sorted and he explained what had happened in the cistern to cause this. Fantastic service.

External combi oil boiler and, doing a weekly pressure check, found room full of condensation and water on the floor. Removed boiler lid to find a fine spray of hot water hitting the lid and running all over the control panel etc. Dumped some kitchen paper over the spray to contain it / turned the hot water etc to off / mopped up the control panel etc and 'phoned Blue Flame by, then, late afternoon. I expected, at best, an engineer next day to ID and order a spare part. What I got was David, within the hour, and carrying the necessary spare. It's not the most spacious home for the boiler despite being purpose built and not the easiest to work in. Nevertheless the repair and subsequent checking was completed circa 2 hours after the 'phone call which is rather impressive! Very grateful - thank you.

We returned home having been away for a couple of weeks to find our LPG boiler would not start. We called Blue Flame early in the afternoon and they came out the same day and repaired our old boiler, having been able to locate and use spares from an old boiler. They worked until late in the evening to ensure the boiler was working, always with a smile. They returned the next morning to check everything and make a couple of minor adjustments. We are delighted with the service we received from Blue Flame. It took less than a week from the initial site visit to completion of the install. The Engineer (David) was very professional and thorough. All work was carried out as per the quote. On completion of the install, David noticed that the pressure had dropped in the new boiler, he went above and beyond in tracing the problem (which was a faulty radiator connection and nothing to do with the work carried out). To carry out the repair, David had to go under the house crawl space, which is not the nicest of environments, and to make matters worse the weather outside was torrential rain. The repair was carried out successfully and David stayed to check there were no other issues. All in all, a fantastic service from a very professional and friendly company. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Installation of bundled oil tank

4 men worked tirelessly to prepare and fit a slab base having already removed a wooden surround and emptied my oil tank into a container. They then sawed up the old tank. Carried the heavy new tank and installed it on the slab. When in place they pumped the good oil back into the new tank. All this was done in pouring rain yet they remained cheerful throughout. They removed all waste items and left it clean and tidy. Job finished within the day so we could have the boiler running same day. Finished off the next day. In all they were a great bunch remained cheerful throughout even though one of them said he was wet through to his boxers.

After a month of chasing the installer of our oil boiler for a service, we lost patience and rang Blue Flame. We rang at 11.45 am on the Friday, and the job was complete by 11.30 am the following Monday. The office contact is extremely efficient, and the engineer who attended was friendly and helpful. I called Blue Flame as we had a leak in our central heating system. I feared we may have to have floors ripped up to find it. The man who called to estimate was friendly polite and reassuring. He explained a way to resolve the problem, sent me an estimate the same day and the job was booked in a week after I accepted the estimate. The guys who came to do the work were extremely polite, efficient and tidy, they had the job done in no time and although we now have some pipes running down walls they are hardly noticeable. The problem was fixed, a new radiator fitted in our lounge, system tested and they were away. Our central heating is working perfectly now. This may not be the cheapest firm to use but their work ethic is second to none. I would not hesitate to use them again. All the people I came into contact with were friendly and helpful, there was absolutely no mess when the work was done and they fixed the issues as they said they would - no dramas. Excellent work, thank you very much.

Combi Boiler installation to replace old boiler, new controls & radiator valves, removal of water tanks, installation of a new radiator & gas fire service. The company were fantastic from first enquiry to completion of the work, especially the installers. There was no hard sell and I got an explanation of the options available to me and their recommendation. I received a detailed quote and we agreed an installation date which fitted with my schedule. I was kept informed of a slight delay to the start time on the first day and the work was completed within the original quoted timescale of 2.5 days. The staff doing the installation were amazing. They were hard working, friendly, efficient and professional completing the work to a very high standard and leaving the property better than it was originally. I will be taking out a service package and have already recommended this company twice.

Blue Flame have recently replaced my gas boiler. The was was done on schedule and to budget. The heating engineer worked very tidily and removed any redundant items. I have been very impressed with the Greenstar 8000 combi boiler, they balanced the radiators when commissioning the system and the house heating is so much better for it. My first time using Blue Flame, from initial inspection and quote for the installation of a new boiler, to fitting in my home, I was aware that they were customer-focused. There was no high-pressure sales talk. On the day of the installation the two engineers arrived early, I was informed before that they were on route to my home. On arrival straight to work, very tidy approach to their work, they were very approachable and friendly. On completion of the work, I was shown how to operate the controls. The standard of finish was good and neat, the outside flu finished off to a high standard. When they had finished, they cleared up, even hoovering one of the rooms upstairs where they had loft access. The roofer also attended to replace slates where the old flu had been, this had been arranged by Blue Flame again a high standard of workmanship. Overall very happy with my experience with Blue Flame.

I recently had my boiler serviced as part of my yearly requirement for my 10-year guarantee. Paul the engineer was very helpful and arrived within the promised time. I mentioned that I sometimes caught a slight whiff of gas around the incoming pipe and meter area, he checked this for me and showed me a bubble forming on an incoming elbow. We contacted the emergency number and reported the fault, Paul was good enough to stay in his van waiting for the gas boards arrival. Unfortunately, he eventually had to leave for his next scheduled service but left me with his mobile number to contact him with the outcome on completion. We had been struggling with what appeared to be extensive rising damp for months on 2 internal walls having employed builders and several surveys. While servicing our boiler your engineer looked at the issue and ascertained the problem in less than half an hour. He arranged to return and delve further into the problem. Did so promptly, made sound judgements as to how to limit damage given that floors needed digging up. He called for more a specialised engineer who was with us in a couple of hours. He was enthusiastic , very competent, fixed the problem efficiently and left us with a clean site. In every circumstance they were polite, positive and helpful. Team Blue Flame worked very well together. We have used them before always having had the same experience.

We've needed this work done for some time - it was just a case of finding a trustworthy company to carry it out. Living out in the country, it can be difficult to get trades teams to attend the property. We've used Blue Flame for a number of things, including annual boiler service and any boiler problems. The young plumber who serviced our electric boiler and heating system hadn't worked on many electric systems, but he serviced ours without any problems and explained how it all worked and what exactly had needed doing. He was a very efficent tidy worker, he also observed the coronavirus safety precautions without being asked and even washed the cup I gave him tea in, in the bathroom sink before handing it back to me! I honestly can’t recommend Blue Flame highly enough - over the past eight years they have fitted a gas boiler for us and carried out our annual service on our gas boiler and gas fire. Their workers are pleasant and knowledgeable and clean up after themselves when the work is finished, also wearing plastic overshoes and this year a mask. I am paranoid about gas safety and they are the only firm I would trust to do any gas work for us. Due to a fluctuating pressure of the new boiler and having 9 radiators throughout the house and extension it was required to fit an expansion tank in the garage by Paul one of the Blue Flame Engineers, such a nice polite and cheerful young lad, an absolute joy to speak to and so professional at his job. We decided to change from oil to gas central heating and contacted Blue Flame. They came out immediately and told us who to contact to get gas connected to our house and what steps had to be taken. Everything and everyone we came across were so helpful and effecient. I was able to move the installation forward a few weeks which Blue Flame accommodated happily. Blue Flame were the last workmen here. The workmen knew what they were doing, worked well as a team and just got on with the job. They covered their boots when they came into the house and left the garage clean. The men were friendly, effecient and professional and seemed to work non-stop. The workmen explained how to work everything to us with great patience but we were grateful to the follow up visit from the boss the next day. A huge thank you.

Whilst the work quote for my boiler installation ( inc moving the boiler and removing a bath) was not cheapest that I had received, the quality of the initial inspection was deciding factor, as an issue had been identified and therefore the filters would be arriving prepared for the work to be undertaken. The gentleman that undertook the initial inspection arrived with the fitters to walk through what was required before work commenced. The two fitters were punctual and cleared and removed all debris. The quality of their work was excellent , I have no hesitation in recommending Blue Flame.

Great service The estimator arrived at the time stated and explained the best way to achieve the installation of a new radiator and where it should be positioned for maximum effect. He told us what works the engineer would carry out to the building fabric and the estimated time it would take. Explaining what furniture we should move etc prior to the engineers' arrival to save time and facilitate the work. We received a quote the same day which covered the materials to be used and costs of works which was not as expensive as I had anticipated. The engineer arrived on time and put down sheets to protect the carpets before starting work. He worked quickly and efficiently and did the job to the highest standards. On completion of the work, he cleaned all the areas he had been working in. I was impressed by the standard of work and the care taken by the engineer. Based on this experience I would highly recommend Blue Flame.

I have used the services for 3 years they fitted a new boiler and have continued to service both the boiler and gas fire annually. Today's service was no exception to the rule of efficient service. Booking the appointment was straightforward and I was able to pay by card over the phone cutting down on contact. The engineer was friendly and extremely well prepared with appropriate PPE and cleaned all the surfaces with anti bacterial spray to cut down on any contamination. Will use them in the future.

We have used BlueFlame several times now and they have always been very satisfactory.. This time theywere putting right the faults they found during a survey 'condition report' in our new home . Several earthing faults were put right incluing one which took quite a bit of detecting. The lads were helpful and explained what they were doing and why. I needed a complete new flue on my combi boiler, a new thermostat and a TRV. The engineer arrived promptly to inspect the work that needed doing and took notes which he checked with me to make sure I was happy with them. The detailed quote arrived a couple of days later and was for a very reasonable price. I was not able to be at the property on the agreed date but they were happy to take a key and let themselves in. They did the work in one day and left my property in good condition. I received the Safety/Service Certificate the next day. Their customer service is great and they were happy to answer any and all questions. I would have no hesitation in using this company again and highly recommend them.

These guys fitted us a WIFI thermostat to manage heating. They noticed and repaired damaged main electric cable to oil boiler. Fitted outdoor security light and replaced worn out ceiling extractor. Noticed the dreaded damp ceiling in an area above the crawl way. Contacted Blue Flame last 9.00 am and was given an appointment time of between 2:00 and 4:00pm. The plumber was finished within the hour, had fixed the pipe, hoovered up the standing water laying on the ceiling plasterboards, and has wrung out the sodden insulation material for faster drying. All done within the minimum one hour call-out charge! Top marks lads!

From start to finish Blue Flame were efficient and friendly keeping us informed every step. The man who quoted and assessed the job was very informed and the young lads who did the work carried it out in a friendly manner keeping everything tidy as they went working very hard all day. Carpets were all covered and all rubbish removed. At the end of the works my mum was even given a beautiful bunch of flowers to thank her for her custom a lovely personal touch. Fantastic local firm.

This review is for the removal of a Back Boiler and installation of a Combi boiler system. Survey: Very professional, Jon explained every step of the process and added advice to enable us to make a decision for the most economical and efficient system. His communication was a mixture of technical and simple explanation offering a complete understanding to guide us. Installation: This took the best part of three days, the engineers were Lee and Callum who turned up promptly each day and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. I was impressed when a roll of tacky backed plastic was used to safely protect the stair and landing carpet. These two engineers were polite and informative though out the job, nothing was too much trouble and at no stage did I hear bad language being used. In the very final stages of the job access to upstairs was required, the carpet protector had been removed at this stage, each time Callum entered the house he removed his boots in the hall. I would have been proud to have employed these two lads myself. A great job from start to finish and I would have no hesitation in recommending Blue Flame to any potential customer. Competitively priced and well executed from start to finish.

We received quotes from 5 reputable firms but opted for Blue flame because of the detailed survey and the consultation about the options that would suit us best. They weren't the cheapest but not the most expensive either. The fitting was done quickly and the workmanship was very good. I appreciated the way they looked after our home and were careful to clean up at the end of each day. All in all I was very happy with the service.

I have used Blue Flame to service my gas appliances for several years. This review relates to a plumbing job carried out by Blue Flame at my home. I needed a replacement bath mixer tap - Blue Flame carried out this work on time, taking great care to remove and replace the side panel on my bath with the minimum of damage. The plumbers were polite and courteous throughout, and left the bathroom clean and tidy when they finished. I am happy to recommend Blue Flame for both gas and plumbing work.

Service was absolutely A1. Everything went fine. They were here for Tuesday and half of Wednesday and I could not fault them, they got straight on with it. They were so polite. Old boiler leaking in 3 places so no heating or hot water over weekend. On looking on line the old boiler had so many complaints Rubbish! ( it was in when l bought the cottage). Engineer came first thing Monday morning and temporarily fixed but advised on a replacement. Quote given Tuesday boiler fitted Wednesday, completed Thursday. How's that for service! Very pleased with the work & workmen, and pleasantly surprised at the overall cost. Cannot fault Blue Flame.

After discovering a leak in our shower room we immediately contacted Blue Flame and the repair work began. The floor had to be taken up and replaced as did the shower tray screens and tiles. This was all done by Lee and Ross who couldn't have been better. They were here for 6 days and on the last day the shower room was immaculate. Can't thank Blue Flame enough and would recommend them to anyone.

Telephoned me 10 mins. before arrival to say he was on his way. Was respectful, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Got on with the job in hand and even went as far as installing my newly purchased 'carbon monoxide' alarm on the wall, free of charge. I would recommend Blue Flame Services to anyone. The only negative I can see is having to wait for the issue of the Gas Safety Certificate'. Up to press I'm still waiting for it. My last tradesman issued it immediately the job was done. Room for improvement here I think.

Blue flame carried out the annual service of my boiler and gas fire, they arrived 10 mins before expected but had phoned me to check if this was ok. The engineer got straight to work on the boiler first and then the fire both were done with no fuss or disruption and warranty paperwork was done at the same time, my carpet was protected by dust sheets and everything worked fine after he left. I gave the engineer the payment with cheque as agreed and he said the gas certificate will be sent to me separately later. The engineer explained what he was doing as he carried out the work and answered all my questions. Very satisfied with blue flame.
