I recently booked a central heating service for which I was quoted £111 including VAT which I accepted. When making the booking I also said that I would like a tap replaced in our cloakroom at the same time as the C /H service. I said that I would provide the tap but was not given a quote for this additional work in fitting it. Stuart Brazendale duly arrived on the appointed day and carried out both jobs in just over two hours. He was friendly, knowledgable and professional and I was very satisfied with his work. A day later I received TWO separate invoices. One for the C/H service for £111 but also a further invoice for £96 including VAT for the replacement tap!! I thought this must be a clerical error so I queried this with the company but was informed that this was their minimum charge for each job!! The company’s response was that this charge included Stuart’s travelling time and potential loss of earnings. To be honest I feel that this policy is unreasonable as the additional time taken to change the tap was just over 30 minutes so I was being charged £96 for half an hours work. I explained that I expected to pay a fee for this extra work but not such a large amount. After a discussion with a director of the company they agreed to reduce the charge. However I honestly feel that this company should review its charging policy as not every customer would have the confidence to challenge the charges.

We appreciate your feedback and would like to address some of the points you have raised Firstly, we are pleased that you are satisfied with the quality of the work carried out by Stuart. As you mentioned, he is the director of the company and our most qualified engineer. Your boiler was fully serviced, the tap you provided was fitted and your heating system was balanced, all within two hours. We take pride in our quality of workmanship and customer satisfactions, as evidenced by your positive comments and 5 star rating in the area of quality. Regarding the additional charge for the tap fitting we apologies if there was any confusion about the pricing. Our policy includes a minimum charge for each job, travel and qualification of engineer is considered in this. You did specifically request the company director Stuart for the job. We acknowledge that you challenged the charge and after discussion with our director we agreed to reduce the fee as a gesture of goodwill. We believe in transparent communication and are committed to review our charging policies to avoid any future misunderstandings. We did reduce the bill to our minimum plumbing charge, which you refused to pay. You were only prepared to pay £40, this is an insult to any professional tradesman to expect them to earn a living and cover their overheads for that amount. Telephone conversation to get a quote received via email. Plumber turned up on agreed date and time. Half an hour later mixer tap fitted and literally no mess. Very satisfied. A good system of email and text messages keeps you informed and enables you to pay via online banking.

We had Simon come to service and fix a leaky boiler. He was professional and fixed our problem and the cost was much better than expected. What made Simon stand out was that he also gave me recommendations to look it. We have a lead pipe that provides the main water supply and he told me I could get in touch with UU and I could apply to get it changed. Which I'm now in the process of doing. I found their customer service top-notch. I'll be using them again.

We have employed Brazendale Heating and Plumbing a couple of times recently and we are very pleased with their work. This local firm responds quickly to enquiries, gives clear estimates, and arrives at the prearranged appointment time. Mr Brazendale and his employees are very competent, knowledgeable, courteous and very careful in their whole approach. Their Covid protocol is excellent. Above all, the team gives us a feeling of confidence in the quality of the work done and their knowledge behind it. We would wholeheartedly recommend them to carry out an excellent job.

Recently had Brazendale replace 3 radiators and move some previously annoying pipework out of the way. Polite and friendly lad that did the work. Clean and tidy job and happy to explain and answer my questions. This was part of a larger redecoration project and Brazendale were flexible to fit in with this. Always polite and efficient when I call.

Brazendale Heating have now completed the full installation of all plumbing and heating for 5 Barns for us and have always provided an excellent service. Stewart came to the rescue when we could not find a plumber to replace our oil burning boiler. Previous trader let us down at the last minute and Stewart and his team gave us a good realistic quote to complete :- New water tank, New boiler in new position, new pipes everywhere and tidying up shoddy work from other traders... Completing the installation work once our new kitchen is fitted and commissioning the new boiler! Superb guys, tidy honest workers who worked their little socks off to finish on time. One very very happy customer
